This is an exciting time for Las Vegas, full of redevelopment, investment and creativity. MGM Resorts International will invest $350 million in its resorts this year, ensuring that guests have new wonders to explore and enjoy with each visit, and that we continue to provide the exceptional service for which we are world renowned. Below are the highlights of recent programs we have introduced and announced.
BELLAGIO
Spa Tower Remodel
Elevating the guest experience at one of the world's most iconic resorts, Bellagio recently completed the remodel of all 928 rooms and suites in its Spa Tower. Additionally, the resort introduced three new Executive Parlor Suites designed with entertainment and technology in mind. The 2,500-square-foot suites each feature a billiards lounge and separate high-tech home theater living area inviting guests to host intimate, yet interactive events in a vibrant setting. In addition to 819 Resort King and Resort Queen guest rooms, the Spa Tower features a selection of more than 100 newly redesigned suites. The $40 million Spa Tower remodel began in August 2012 and took five months to complete. This marks the conclusion of the hotel's redesign of all 3,387 Resort Rooms which also included the recent $70 million Bellagio Tower remodel. Spa Tower remodel completed December 2012.
Caviar Station at The Buffet at Bellagio
The Buffet at Bellagio, known for its high-quality cuisine and exceptional service, recently announced the addition of a lavish new station featuring Traditional, Ikura and Tobiko caviars. Every Friday and Saturday from 3:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. during Gourmet Dinner Service, guests can savor the delicate flavors of the world's finest caviars alone or as complements to a selection of freshly prepared traditional dishes including blinis, buckwheat waffles, sushi and Ahi tuna cones. This decadent option is included in the Gourmet Dinner price of $37.99. Caviar Station opened February 2013.
2013 Epicurean Epicenter Series Continuing the tradition of offering unforgettable culinary experiences coupled with perfectly paired wines, Bellagio's 2013 Epicurean Epicenter Series features an exceptional lineup of events. The resort's legendary chefs including Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Todd English, Royden Ellamar and Edmund Wong along with talented Master Sommelier and Bellagio Director of Wine Jason Smith host interactive dining demonstrations in the 1,170-square-foot Tuscany Kitchen. This state-of-the-art demo kitchen is outfitted with top-of-the-line Viking equipment and features three cameras, positioned above the prep stations and stove tops to capture shots of the chefs at work and broadcast them over 60-inch plasma screens mounted above the cooking area. Series began January 2013.
An Executive Chef's Culinary Classroom
Bellagio Resort & Casino invites guests to put on their chefs' coats for a hands-on lesson in the culinary arts at An Executive Chef's Culinary Classroom, a series of interactive cooking classes in which Bellagio Executive Chef Edmund Wong and his team guide students through the preparation of a three-course meal including an appetizer, entrée and dessert. During each two-hour session held in Tuscany Kitchen, the resort's state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen, participants have the chance to taste their creations, which are paired with a specially selected wine. Each class follows a seasonal theme and features a menu created with the freshest ingredients. Classes are held monthly. Classes began April 2013.
“Warhol Out West”
Organized in partnership with The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art presents “Warhol Out West,” a pioneering exhibition that focuses on Warhol's depiction of all things Western. BGFA showcases 56 of the iconic artist's pieces including paintings, sculptures, photographs, screen prints and wallpaper. Exhibits include Warhol's 1960s Pop paintings of celebrities and consumer products; the 1980s advertisement series; the beloved “Double Elvis” painting; and his rarely seen “Cowboys and Indians” series. Warhol is one of the most influential artists in the visual art movement known as Pop Art and based his creative depiction of celebrity, advertisements, comic books and brand products within the realm of popular culture. Opened February 2013 and on view through January 2, 2014.
ARIA top
Zarkana by Cirque du Soleil
Zarkana, thesurreal acrobatic spectacle byCirque du Soleil, is a visual vortex set in a slightly twisted fantasy universe where, little by little, chaos and craziness give way to festivity and love regained. The diverse cast of more than 75 international artists transports the audience into a fantastical and suspenseful world, blurring the boundaries between the real and imaginary. More than 1.2 million guests were awed by Zarkana during runs in Madrid, at Moscow's Kremlin State Palace Theatre and two summers at the legendary Radio City Music Hall. The show has been touted by press as “Aah-Inspiring” (The New York Times) and “Truly spectacular, awe-inspiring, gorgeous and stunning” (New York Post). Opened November 2012.
ARIA Wedding Chapel
The Wedding Chapel at ARIA provides brides and grooms a level of contemporary luxury unparalleled on the Las Vegas Strip. While couples have a wealth of ways to say 'I do' in Vegas, from simple civil ceremonies and elegant services to themed extravaganzas, venues offering cutting-edge sophistication have remained scarce. The Wedding Chapel at ARIA combines sleek modern lines with soft, lavish décor for a look and feel that is as sophisticated as it is inviting. Opened April 2013.
FIVE50 Pizza Bar
FIVE50 Pizza Bar is James Beard award-winning chef Shawn McClain's first casual concept. The restaurant's name is inspired by the temperature at which the pizza is cooked, and the time when the pizza bar will celebrate a special happy hour daily. The menu features McClain's signature pizzas paired with an impressive selection of craft beers along with small plates, handmade pastas, an artisanal charcuterie selection and decadent desserts. Designed by Rockwell Group, the space blends the soul and warmth of the world's most iconic pizzerias with the social energy of the greatest bar scenes by featuring built in wood-fired ovens, a central, high-energy bar and a walk-up slice counter for guests on the go. Five50 Pizza Bar is open daily for lunch, dinner and late night. This is McClain's second venue at ARIA – the chef is the visionary behind the popular Sage restaurant. Opened July 2013.
The Buffet
ARIA Buffet underwent a remodel that included updates to interior and exterior décor elements along with new culinary offerings. The 11 buffet stations include; Asian, Italian, Pizza, Mediterranean, Tandoori, Carvery, Diner, Salad Bar, the all-new Fish Market and Latin stations and, of course, Sweets. Small batches of signature dishes are prepared throughout the day to ensure optimal freshness and live-action stations specializing in custom creations such as made-to-order pastas and omelets make dining an interactive experience. Delicious kabobs, freshly baked naan bread and other savory dishes are prepared in one of the only Tandoor Ovens in a Las Vegas buffet. ARIA Buffet is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch and offers an all-you-can-drink option which includes unlimited refills on premium beer, wine and Sangria for an additional $12.99. Re-opened December 2012.
Javier's
Javier's, a favorite hot spot for those in-the-know in Southern California and Los Cabos, Mexico, introduces its regionally influenced Mexican cooking in an unparalleled setting amongst all of the excitement of ARIA. Javier's menu, inspired by cuisine from different regions of Mexico, features grilled seafood, steaks, chicken and a selection of vegetarian dishes presented exquisitely. Tequila aficionados are enticed by the restaurant's selection of premium tequila which is without rival from here to Mexico while the restaurant's full bar features Javier's famous hand-shaken, made-to-order margaritas. Opened October 2012.
Starbucks
The ever popular gourmet coffee house opened three locations within ARIA and The Shops at Crystals. One is conveniently located on the second level of ARIA steps away from the guest elevators, the second inside Crystals with a view of many of the designer stores and the third is located next to Pinkberry with a sidewalk entrance right off Las Vegas Blvd. Opened April 2013.
Vdara Hotel & Spa now offers a canine-friendly program that not only welcomes, but caters to, man's best friend. With its new Vdog program, Vdara allows guests to travel with up to two dogs with a combined weight of 75 lbs or one dog at the same weight for an additional $50 per dog, per night. A non-refundable cleaning fee will also be charged to guests. Upon check-in, all dogs will receive a welcome amenity that includes an all-natural, freshly baked dog treat from a local pet bakery, eco-friendly waste bags, information about Vdara's 24-hour dog park that features a walking path and an in-suite doggie dining menu created by Vdara's executive chef. Upon request, Vdara will provide crates for pet owners who choose to leave their dogs alone and dog-sitting services can be arranged through Vdara concierge.

The Shops at Crystals
James Turrell Installation
In May 2013, a new installation by internationally acclaimed artist James Turrell debuted at The Shops at Crystals. The installation is the latest addition to the CityCenter Fine Art Collection,the first major permanent collection in Las Vegas integrated into a public space.
Central to the project is the transformation of the tram station where light saturates the space with color, in coordination with the arrival and departure of each train. In response to the unique architecture of the Daniel Libeskind-designed building, Turrell created a new visual experience for guests of the luxury fashion center. The installation features works that can be experienced from multiple vantage points – seen from afar as subtly changing planes of color or from within an area flooded with light.
A second, more intimate experience titled Akhob, is found on the fourth level of the Louis Vuitton's Maison at Crystals. This by-appointment-only experience was created by James Turrell especially for Louis Vuitton. The work is Turrell's largest “ganzfeld effect” to date. A “ganzfeld effect” is a three dimensional experience where guests navigate through the space and ultimately experience a void of dimension. This project is the latest of three James Turrell creations commissioned by Louis Vuitton, including a piece for the House's renowned Parisian Maison on the Champs-Elysées. Tourbillon
Tourbillon expands its third U.S.-based boutique at Crystals making it the largest and most impressive store to date within the Swatch group family. Only in a Tourbillon boutique can guests peruse prestigious brands such as Breguet, Blancpain, Glashütte Original, Jaquet Droz, Leon Hatot and Omega under one roof. In homage to the parent company's namesake, Swatch Group, a selection of exclusive watches and jewelry from the Swatch brand, also is featured.
Valentino
Established in Rome in 1962, the legendary house of Valentino expands to The Shops at Crystals. The 3,000-square-foot boutique is the first location in Las Vegas to boast the new store design concept that features a more intimate and personal feel than a traditional retail boutique, yet remains true to Valentino's iconic brand with signature black and white checkered flooring, layered mirror glass walls and gypsum curtains. The Crystals location carries the largest selection of products in Las Vegas with items from all retail categories including the latest ready-to-wear, handbag and shoe collections.
RIMOWA
German luxury luggage manufacturer, RIMOWA, debuts its flagship location at The Shops at Crystals. The second location in Las Vegas and only fifth in the United States, the Crystals' RIMOWA location spans 2,000-square-feet and offers exclusive items, including the new leather goods collection and all RIMOWA accessories. The bright white design of the Crystals boutique allows the quality and array of colors to stand out while a custom VIP room, accented in darker hues, highlights special aluminum magnesium alloy cases. The VIP room is designated to be an intimate space for shoppers to peruse the RIMOWA selection with their own private salesperson.
Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant and Nightclub
Leading entertainment and nightlife company Angel Management Group (AMG) and Hakkasan Ltd., a prestigious global restaurant brand,have partnered to launch a Michelin-starred luxury-dining brand combined with a lavish new nightclub at MGM Grand. The collaboration delivers an innovative concept evolving beyond Hakkasan's original restaurant model and is certain to revolutionize Las Vegas' nightlife and dining experiences. Hakkasan Las Vegas recently announced exclusive residencies with world-renowned DJs Tiësto, Calvin Harris and Steve Aoki. Nightclub opened April 2013. Restaurant opened May 2013.
Michael Mina's PUB 1842
Michael Mina's gastro pub features traditional pub fare including shellfish, sausage, burgers and craft beer. The dining room has a vintage pub theme complete with elevated dining booths, wooden bar stools and a keg room. Stone mosaic floors, vintage print wallpapers, plaid upholstery and butcher block tables add to the authentic tavern environment. Opened June 2013
Avenue 24
Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Avenue 24 Bar & Grill offers a collection of American favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast menu features waffles, omelets, fruit and the signature Two-fisted breakfast sandwich. For lunch and dinner, guests can enjoy a wide variety of options from soups and sandwiches to burgers, seafood and grilled entrees. For guests that stop by for the late-night menu, Avenue 24 offers choices including the Best of Breakfast, Munching and Sharing and Late-Night Chinese Cravings. Opened June 28, 2013
Corner Cakes Pastry Shop
As MGM Grand's first retail pastry outlet, Corner Cakes Pastry Shop features creations from the property's skilled pastry team. Selections include breakfast pastries, assorted cupcakes, mini cakes, tarts and pies. Signature items consist of treats such as red velvet cupcakes, salted caramel cupcakes, mini carrot cakes, chocolate brownie pudding and raspberry tarts. Corner Cakes proudly brews Caffé Umbria coffee from Seattle, Wash. in two specialty blends, Arco Etrusco and Mezzanotte (decaf), capturing the true essence of Italian-style espresso and coffee.Corner Cakes serves up sweet treats 24 hours daily. MGM Grand Room Remodel
MGM Grand recently redesigned 3,570 guest rooms and 642 suites in the Grand Tower as part of a $160 million remodel. Featuring warm, yet vibrant designs and color palettes with contemporary furnishings, the new room and suite designs create comfortable and functional spaces within a sophisticated setting. In keeping with MGM Grand's commitment to sustainability, the newly remodeled rooms and suites also incorporate environmentally responsible elements including LED lighting; improved thermostats and solar shades to better manage temperature and guest comfort; upgraded faucets and showers; and bath amenities that are 100 percent biodegradable. Room remodel completed September 2012.
STAY WELL Rooms
A first on the Las Vegas Strip, MGM Grand offers a collection of STAY WELL rooms and suites. Developed by New York-based Delos, these rooms combine the best of medical science and technology to enhance guests' physical and mental well-being during their stay. The 42 new STAY WELL Rooms contain more than a dozen healthy features including aromatherapy, wake-up light therapy and Vitamin C-infused shower water allowing guests to take their healthy lifestyles on the road. All STAY WELL rooms and suites are located in a dedicated wing on the 14th floor of the hotel's main tower. Rooms completed October 2012.
Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil
Mandalay Bay, in partnership with Cirque du Soleil and the Michael Jackson estate, is thrilled to unveil Michael Jackson ONE, a permanent production dedicated to the King of Pop. Michael Jackson ONE is a state-of-the-art visual and audio experience creating a theatrical evocation of Michael's creative genius. Grand Opening was June 2013.
LIGHT
LIGHT, the first stand-alone nightclub presented by the partnership of The Light Group and Cirque du Soleil, is set to revolutionize the Las Vegas nightlife landscape. Designed to bring a unique, memorable experience each evening, LIGHT will tantalize senses with state-of-the-art production and theatrics. Redefining a “night out” and creating unique, memorable events each evening are a group of world-renowned resident DJs including Skrillex, Sebastian Ingrosso, Zedd, Baauer, Axwell and Alesso, among others. Opened May 2013.
DAYLIGHT Beach Club
Opening in time for the 2013 summer season, DAYLIGHT Beach Club is a departure from traditional Vegas pool parties, transporting guests from the hustle and bustle of The Strip to an upscale and chic tropical oasis. Centered around a luxurious pool with three wet decks, the 5,000-person DAYLIGHT Beach Club is the perfect setting to indulge. With 50,000 square feet of flexible outdoor space, DAYLIGHT allows the party to easily transition from day to night, always with Mandalay Bay as the backdrop. Opened May 2013.
Delano Las Vegas
Delano Las Vegas, an all-suite hotel introduced by MGM Resorts International and Morgans Hotel Group, will come to life in place of THEhotel. All 1,100 suites will be redesigned to reflect the Delano personality and its iconic South Beach charm. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2014 with an anticipated opening in Q3 2014.
Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas
Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, located on floors 35-39 of Mandalay Bay, began the year in grand style – with a complete renovation of all 424 guest rooms and suites. This innovative design project was inspired in part by the vibrant Art Deco period, resulting in chic interiors that are simultaneously stylish, modern and reflective of the glamour and energy for which Las Vegas is known. Creating an energetic social hub that evolves from espressos in the morning to draft beers and wine at night, Press is a new indoor/outdoor lobby bar ideal for refreshment, mingling and business. Rooms completed January 2013. Press opened May 2013.
Citizens Kitchen & Bar
Citizens Kitchen & Bar features Light Group's Executive Chef Brian Massie's creative and contemporary take on American comfort food. The menu features a wide range of signature favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner with highlights including Maryland Blue Crab Cakes, Southern Fried Chicken and Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf. Opened January 2013.
Red Square
The Light Group relaunched the popular restaurant as a revitalized dinner, cocktail and nightlife destination. The exquisite menu – featuring easy-to-share plates including Tuna Tartare, Chicken Kiev with Bacon Brussels Sprouts and an impressive caviar selection – takes on contemporary American favorites and infuses them with exciting Russian influences. Opened December 2012.
Kumi
Kumi by Akira Back at Mandalay Bay features Exectuive Chef Akira Back's (Yellowtail at Bellagio) world famous cuisine – a modern Japanese menu with a Korean American twist. Kumi is an inviting and engaging venue, featuring modern twists on authentic Japanese design. Kumi's 10,000 square feet of space offers various dining areas with seating for up to 300 people. The anchor of the dining room is Kumi's sushi bar, featuring glazed cobalt blue tiles in a scalloped pattern inspired by common Japanese homes. Adjacent to the sushi bar is a back rotunda with walls painted with giant interpretations of cherry blossom trees. Opened July 2013.
Rx Boiler Room
Rx Boiler Room isaward-winning chef, restaurateur and cookbook author Rick Moonen's steampunk-inspired restaurant and lounge is located on the second level of rm Seafood inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Bay. The restaurant's décor is reminiscent of industrialism during the 19th century Victorian era featuring warm colors, opulent leather seating, chalkboard walls, and a hammered metallic ceiling. The menu combines the alchemy of food and drink by showcasing Moonen's spin on classic comfort food served in small and large plate portions and hand-crafted cocktails. Opened July 2013.
Seascape Ballroom
The new meeting space, the Seascape Ballroom within Shark Reef Aquarium, provides captivating views of the 30 sharks and other magnificent aquatic creatures that make their home in the 1.3-million-gallon exhibit. Ideal for intimate receptions, sit-down dinners and Board meetings, the Seascape Ballroom is a one-of-a-kind location allowing guests to be immersed in the beauty and serenity of this underwater scene. An adjoining outdoor patio and lounge, with a pergola for ambiance and privacy, allows for flexible use of this distinctive space. Guides are available to provide private tours of Shark Reef Aquarium. Opened June 2013.
Morimoto Las Vegas
Masaharu Morimoto, renowned Japanese chef and star of Food Network's “Iron Chef America,” will bring his passion for cooking to the Las Vegas Strip with the opening of Morimoto Las Vegas. The restaurant will feature the contemporary Japanese cuisine and signature sushi that has earned Chef Morimoto worldwide acclaim and will take the location currently occupied by Japonais. Opening Spring 2014.
Tom Colicchio's Heritage Steak
Renowned New York chef Tom Colicchio brings his passion for cooking with fire to The Mirage with the opening of Tom Colicchio's Heritage Steak. The 250-seat restaurant focuses on meats prepared entirely over an open flame – from wood-burning ovens to charcoal grills. The warmth of the hearth permeates the entire restaurant; from the Bentel+Bentel design highlighting natural materials to the comforting aroma reminiscent of a campfire. Colicchio's new restaurant, located within The Mirage's iconic Atrium, is open for dinner, nightly. Opened August 2013.
Boyz II Men
Four-time GRAMMY Award-winning R&B vocal group Boyz II Men kicked off an extended residency at The Mirage in spring 2013. The trio, featuring baritone Nathan Morris alongside tenors Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman, will perform in the Terry Fator Theatre on select weekend dates through December 29, 2013. Formed in 1990, Boyz II Men holds the distinction of being the best-selling R&B group of all time with more than 60 million albums sold worldwide. The group redefined popular R&B with its smooth harmonies and timeless themes delivered through a multi-octave sound and incredible vocal styling. Shows at The Mirage are highlighted by the trio's performance of hits including “Motownphilly” and “It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.” Opened March 2013.
“Painting with the Dolphins”
Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage offers a new interactive program, “Painting with the Dolphins,” where guests are able to interact and collaborate with a beloved bottlenose dolphin to create a unique work of art. The 30-minute program includes a brief orientation and overview of the dolphin habitat, the selection of paint colors for the collaborative work of art and finally, the experience of painting and interacting with a dolphin. Participants receive an 11x14 personalized canvas, an 8x10 photograph of themselves with the dolphin and a personalized certificate of authenticity. Through a variety of interactions, guests are able to connect with the dolphins on a deeper level and get a better understanding of the importance of conservation. Launched January 2013.
Blue Man Group
Monte Carlo welcomes the world-renowned entertainment sensation, Blue Man Group. The mega-enhanced show presents an exciting iteration of the Blue Man experience and features new material for repeat customers along with signature pieces for guests who have never seen the show. The new production in the 1,200-seat Monte Carlo Theater is fully loaded with creative and unique acts, taking the audience on an incredible journey to engage the senses while creating fun and lively moments only Blue Man Group can provide. Opened October 10, 2012.
Jabbawockeez “PRiSM”
The world-famous dance crew Jabbawockeez dances into its new home at Luxor
Saturday, May 18 with an all-new show “PRiSM.” A celebration of imagination, the show is an eclectic mix of awe-inspiring choreography, captivating storylines and stunning special effects, forming a production that challenges audiences to embrace the unexpected. The crew will perform in the JABBA Theatre, an 830-seat venue featuring amphitheater style seating and top-of-the-line acoustics to complement the musical artistry of the show. Blending chart topping hits and original tracks by JBWKZ Records artist The Bangerz, Jabbawockeez will enchant audiences with electrifying energy and beats that transcend generational boundaries, leaving guests of all ages dancing in their seats. Opened May 2013.
Public House
The first West Coast outpost of the popular East Coast tavern-style restaurant, Public House is a 7,000-square-foot venue that offers upscale American fare and an extensive beer selection. Chic patriotic décor adorns the interior with red, white and blue accents throughout. Brick walls frame the venue, creating a classic East Coast atmosphere. The wall of flat panel TVs located at the center bar provides optimal views of several games, or the wall can display one large screen during major sporting events. There are 22 flat-panel TVs situated throughout the bar and restaurant. Opened September 2012.
Castle Walk Food Court – Approximately 20,000 square feet, Castle Walk food court is the largest food court in Las Vegas. Recently renovated, Castle Walk is now home to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Auntie Anne's Soft Rolled Pretzels, Popcornopolis, Hot Dog on a Stick, Tropical Smoothie Café, Popeye's Louisiana Chicken, Pick up Stix, Cinnabon and Schlotzsky's. Re-opened November 2012
El Loco
Circus Circus Las Vegas will welcome the world-class, record-breaking roller coaster El Loco to The Adventuredome in December 2013. This gravity-defying coaster is the second of its kind in the United States and will leave riders screaming for more with its unique negative G drops and over-the-edge twists and turns. Designed by S&S Worldwide, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of vertical and family thrill rides, El Loco roller coasters are famous for their record-breaking steep first drops and one-of-a-kind moves. Offering one of the smoothest rides in the business, El Loco's innovative, four-person cars feature an open design which will give riders the feeling of flying during the 75-second ride along 1,300 feet of track. Opening December 2013.

Wi-Fi
MGM Resorts International now offers a high-density Wi-Fi system, the highest-performing, next generation wireless LAN in the industry. The Wi-Fi rollout at MGM Resorts' destinations in Las Vegas began with Bellagio, ARIA, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay and The Mirage. Additional Las Vegas resorts, Monte Carlo, New York-New York, Luxor and Excalibur, will install Wi-Fi in 2013. The installations cover the low-rise public spaces – including pools, casinos, lobbies and restaurants – any place a visitor may wish to have mobile service. While visiting one of these resorts, guests receive complimentary Wi-Fi in the public spaces with the option to upgrade to higher bandwidth, ensuring that everyone has the mobile experience they want. Hotel guests and meeting attendees enjoy upgraded Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi rollout for guest rooms began at MGM Grand and was completed in March 2013; installation for Mandalay Bay is scheduled next, and other resorts will follow. Launched December 2012 (ongoing roll-out).
