Travel Counsellors – one of the UK's largest and fastest-growing travel companies – has revealed the top summer 2023 holiday destinations for Brits based on its latest booking data.

Topping the list of summer destinations is the USA. Florida has proved a favourite for family holidays, as the home of Orlando with its legendary theme parks, Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. Since January 2023, Travel Counsellors has booked more than £34 million worth of USA holidays – 15% of which was booked in June – making it the hottest selling destination for 2023 so far.

Second place in the summer holiday destination list went to Spain, which continued to draw in sun-seekers to the mainland, the Balearics and the Canary Islands – with Mallorca the number one Spanish hotspot.  Greece completed the top three, while the UAE and Italy rounded off the top five list.

For late bookings, Mallorca, the Algarve and Turkish Riviera were the top destinations for last-minute Brits seeking sun-soaked getaways to escape the British weather.

Aside from beach breaks, cruise holidays were also in vogue this summer with Travel Counsellors reporting a 57% increase in bookings compared to last year.

More broadly, Travel Counsellors has seen an increase in long-haul bookings for families, with 11% year-on-year growth. Popular destinations include Thailand (72%), South Africa (70%) and Australia (61%).
