Specialist tour operator Journey Latin America announces the launch of 6 pioneering and exclusive 'one-off' journeys which will take you to some of our favourite lesser-known destinations across Latin America.
Using feedback from tour leaders, clients and staff's local knowledge, these small escorted tours offer unique experiences such as a boat trip on the unspoilt Rio San Juan in Nicaragua; a visit to 12 archaeological sites in Mexico; a jungle experience in the world's most bio-diverse rainforest in Peru and travel by train through the Atlantic rainforest in Brazil:
Archaeology of Mexico: Into Cancun and out of Belize city, loop around the Yucatán, taking in lesser-known archaeological sites such as Ek'Balam, Balamkul, Becan and Xlapak; the colonial towns of Merida and Campeche and Lamanai Outpost in Belize.
“This journey goes off the established beaten-track to discover the lesser-known temples and pyramids of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula but is also about living culture, visiting communities and sampling regional cuisine.” Adam Calladine, Product and Operations, Group Tours.

Off- the-beaten track Nicaragua: Starting at a coffee plantation, this tour continues to Granada and Ometepe, then to the relatively unknown Solentiname Islands in Lago Nicaragua and the region of Rio San Juan.

The Amazon Jungle in Peru: This tour ventures deep into the jungle; visit the Manu biosphere in Southern Peru and spend time with the CREES workers and scientists for a once in a lifetime experience.
“CREES foundation is a well-recognised and leading conservation not-for-profit organisation that manages sustainable initiatives in the Manu Biosphere Reserve.” Ben Line, Senior Travel Consultant.
