Luxury hotel brand, YTL Hotels has unveiled a host of new Signature Weddings to suit the style and taste of couples preparing to tie the knot and create truly memorable experiences for all. Picture a perfect wedding in the verdant hills of Malaysia’s Cameron Highlands or aboard a luxury yacht off Pangkor Laut, each romantic experience is tailor-made to the couples’ personalities and preferences, always taking into account the unique culture and charms of the individual resort and location.
For a classic Colonial wedding bathed in romance and old-world glamour choose the mountain peaks of the Cameron Highlands Resort. Couples exchange vows on the terrace overlooking the lofty pines, under an elaborate floral arch of Cameron Highlands roses before the party moves to the cosy fireplace of the Highlands Bar for a traditional Fireplace Lighting Ritual and a five-course colonial dinner. Alternatively, the resort also offers an Oriental Spring wedding held in an intimate gazebo decorated with charming paper lanterns and cranes. A traditional Japanese tea ceremony is held in the contemporary Gonbei restaurant, after which a five-course Oriental meal is served. Prices start from AUD $4,000 for the wedding couple.
For couples who dream of a wedding on an exclusive private island Pangkor Laut Resort has their signature, luxurious seafaring wedding experience aboard the YTL Lady I, a 65-ft Princess motor yacht. This peaceful ceremony at sea gives couples the opportunity to tie the knot as they cruise towards the sun set over the Straits of Malacca and then sail back to shore for a sumptuous seafood banquet on the beach. Couples may also choose to have a rustic beach wedding on one of the resort’s private beaches or at The Lantern Courtyard amongst the koi ponds of Feast Village. Prices start from AUD $4,500 for the wedding couple.
The Majestic Malacca offers a culturally rich boutique Malaccan Heritage Wedding, drawing from its Peranakan heritage and embracing the colourful Nyonya-Baba roots that the city is known for. The bride and groom can customise their experience with intricately tailored Peranakan outfits handmade from the city’s renowned seamstresses and indulge in a traditional tea ceremony held in The Library of the beautifully tiled original mansion built in the 1920s. The couple then celebrate by touring the city in a wedding trishaw before returning to the hotel for a magnificent five-course Peranakan meal livened up with a Dondang Sayang performance. Prices begin at AUD $1,347 for the wedding couple.
Spa Village Resort Tembok, Bali offers a sun-kissed wedding where the couple and guests immerse themselves in the gentle Balinese culture with a humble ceremony held in a bamboo-lined clearing scented with sweet frangipanis and bougainvillea. As the sun sets and the moon rises, a Balinese banquet is served alfresco in the gardens or at the open-air Wantilan restaurant while a Kechak dance collective performs. Prices begin at AUD $4,000 for the wedding couple.
For beach style wedding framed by the soaring peaks of Mount Kinabalu, Sabah and rich Borneo jungle, choose Gaya Island Resort. The signature experience takes place on the private beach at Tavajun Bay where the bride makes her entrance down the tropical flower-lined aisle and arrives beneath a rainforest arch to say her vows. Prices begin at AUD $5,342 for the wedding couple.
On the pristine East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Tanjong Jara Resort offers a traditional Malay-style wedding immersed in the ancient Malay philosophy of sucimurni. With the Signature Wedding at Teratai Terrace, couples are wed at the end of a tropical flower-lined aisle, under a classic arch shaded by the swaying coconut palms. A live gamelan troupe provides musical accompaniment as a five-course contemporary Asian meal is served. Prices begin at AUD $1680. Guests may also opt to book all of the resort’s 99 rooms in The Royal Wedding, an exclusive, all-inclusive, wedding of a lifetime.
Each wedding experience includes location use for a pre-wedding shoot, wedding celebrant services, actual day wedding arch, aisle and floral décor, a celebratory bottle of champagne and five-course meal, as well as a turndown gift, wedding keepsakes and a couple’s spa experience at the award-winning Spa Villages for the wedding couple. Charges apply for additional guests. YTL Hotels also offers each wedded couple complimentary two nights honeymoon at any Signature YTL Hotels property in Malaysia and Bali if booked within 18 months of the wedding.
