MARIPOSA, CA — Back by popular demand, the Yosemite Songwriting Retreat announced a stellar line up for its 2018 weekend event. Popular songwriter and musician Laura Love is joined by internationally acclaimed songwriter/musician/educator Joe Craven, award winning songwriter David Jacobs-Strain and six more highly skilled staff members for a relaxing, inspiring, educational and sometimes life changing weekend.
The Yosemite Songwriting Retreat is scheduled for October 5 through 8 at the Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort in Midpines, California. Tuition fees for the retreat are $400.00. Accomodation prices start at $226 per person. All retreat accommodation packages include taxes and eight meals from The Bug's gourmet café, which features fresh, organic and local foods with an emphasis on vegan and vegetarian offerings. Retreat participants also receive special discounts on spa services, including yoga classes, hot tubbing and sauna. The retreat is open to anyone 18 years and over. This special weekend retreat is designed to educate and inspire as well as provide performance and recording opportunities and the creative cross pollination that comes from intimate interactions with like minded artists. The teaching staff also includes accomplished songwriters, Gail Dreifus and Adam Burns. Recording engineer Mike Christner will be on hand to help participants bring their songs to life with high quality recordings they can take home with them.
The Yosemite Songwriting Retreat kicks off Friday, October 5 at 7:30 pm with a public faculty concert at The Yosemite Bug, headlined by Laura Love, Joe Craven and David Jacobs-Strain . Tickets are $10 for all ages and are available via the retreat website (www.yosemitesongwriting.com). Seating is limited and advance tickets are encouraged.

The Yosemite Bug is approximately 35 miles from Yosemite Valley and an estimated 45 minute drive from Yosemite National Park. The Merced River canyon is 10 minutes away, where participants can enjoy beautiful scenery and cool swims in the river.
