Yonder Adds Sri Lankan Bolthole to Its Portfolio

Yonder
Small boutique villas can be hard to come by in Sri Lanka, however specialist Sri Lankan tour operator Yonder, has found a cool new two bedroom villa to add to its portfolio. Mataramba Lodge, located in Thalpe on the southwestern tip of Sri Lanka, ten minutes from the fortified town of Galle, is exclusive to Yonder.  Surrounded by jungle, the two bedroom bolthole can be included in a wider itinerary and is a good alternative to a hotel pool villa.

The lodge itself is contemporary in design, with some authentic Sri Lankan touches.  It has its own infinity swimming pool and large terrace overlooking rice paddies, with sun loungers and plantation style chairs.  Sleeping four, in two rooms with bathrooms, Mataramba Lodge is totally private and surrounded by 100 year old mango, jack and wood apple trees, filled with birds and monkeys.

When at Mataramba Lodge, guests can indulge in as little or as much as they like.  There is a housekeeper on hand, who upon request can cook delicious home-made Sri Lankan meals using the freshest local produce and for those keen to explore, a tuk tuk and driver can be booked to see the local sights.

Yonder can include Mataramba Lodge as part of a wider itinerary offering all the flexibility and advantages of combining villa and hotel accommodation in one holiday.  Experts in experience led travel, Yonder can tailor-make an 11 day getaway, starting in tea plantations in the Knuckles Mountain range at over 1000 metres, before moving to Gal Oya National Park to spot wildlife including elephants, sloth bears and jackals on game drives, followed by three days relaxing at Mataramba Lodge and finally ending in Colombo.

Prices start from £1,700 per person for 11 nights including internal transfers and accommodation.  www.yonder.com  0203 880 8585
