Yarra Valley Conference Centre (YVCC) was awarded Finalist in the category Business Tourism, at the 2014 RACV Victorian Tourism Awards on Monday night at the black tie gala dinner at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This award reflects the high standard of entry; a finalist's submission has to score 75 per cent or more of the total possible score.

Venue owner and operator Louise Ward said upon receiving her award “We have built our business over 25 years and this was the first time we've entered an award so we're particularly thrilled with this result. The submission writing process was a very detailed and valuable exercise. It was incredibly useful in helping us understand the running of our business, highlighting what we're doing well and where we can make changes. We're delighted to receive this accolade on behalf of all our hard working staff.”

The RACV Tourism awards have been running for 29 years and are held in high regard within the industry. Businesses are required to write a 30 page submission answering five questions and include data, testimonials, photography and copy. YVCC prepared their submission using a team internally along with invaluable input from a mentor specialist.  As a first time entrant, YVCC were given access to a mentor, provided by Yarra Ranges Tourism, whose advice was invaluable.

“We'll be aiming for Winner next year,” said a smiling Louise Ward.
