Yan Toh Heen Presents a Mid-Autumn Festival Moon Cake Making Class and a Selection of Homemade Moon Cakes

This Mid-Autumn Festival,  the 1-Michelin star Yan Toh Heen is not only preparing a selection of three different homemade Moon Cakes, but  Executive Chef Lau Yiu Fai is also sharing his recipes at a special Moon Cake Making Class on Saturday, September 6th.

Under the expert guidance of Executive Chef Lau, you can learn to make personalized Custard Cream and Gold Dust Moon Cakes made with hand-churned Bordier Butter and Shizuoka Eggs, with a tailor-made (pre-ordered) mould with your choice of inscription (be it your name or a special greeting), of up to two Chinese characters.

At the class you can also taste Yan Toh Heen's other Moon Cake selections which include Iberico Ham and Mixed Nut Moon Cakes and traditional Lotus Seed Paste and Double Salty Egg Yolk Moon Cakes.

Programme:                           

Enjoy a late breakfast of Yan Toh Heen's signature dim sum and freshly brewed Chinese tea. Then Yan Toh Heen Executive Chef Lau will introduce the ingredients and demonstrate how to make Custard Cream and Gold Dust Moon Cakes made with French Bordier Butter and Shizuoka Eggs.  Then you will try your hand at making your own, using your personalized (pre-ordered) wooden moon cake mould.

While your moon cakes are baking, taste a selection of Yan Toh Heen's special Lotus Seed Paste and Double Egg Yolk Moon Cakes and Iberico Ham and Mixed Nut Moon Cakes, served with fine Chinese tea.

 Participants: Maximum of 10 people (so early bookings are recommended)

 Price: HK$1,488+10% per person

Inclusive of a dim sum breakfast, the moon cake making class and tasting. Participants will also receive one personalized wooden moon cake mould set, one box of 6 Custard Cream and Gold Dust Moon Cakes, plus your own freshly baked moon cakes, the moon cake recipe and a Yan Toh Heen Cooking Class apron.
