HONG KONG, May 8, 2013 – Yan Toh Heen, InterContinental Hong Kong’s 1-Michelin star Cantonese restaurant, is celebrating the Tuen Ng (Dragon Boat) Festival on Wednesday, June 12 with homemade Rice Dumplings, which are available to order now through June 11.
As part of InterContinental Hong Kong’s “ihealth” initiative to promote quality ingredients and healthy cuisine, Yan Toh Heen is once again creating nutritious Organic Apple and Black Glutinous Rice Dumplings. Also available are Yan Toh Heen’s signature Whole Abalone Glutinous Rice Dumplings and gourmet Wagyu Beef Cheek and Porcini Glutinous Rice Dumplings.
Organic Apple with Black Glutinous Rice Dumplings HK$128 per piece
The Organic Apple with Black Glutinous Rice Dumplings are made from 100% organic ingredients. This is perhaps the only truly health conscious rice dumpling in town; and it is equally delicious. With no additives or sugar, this dumpling contains essential nutrients including dietary fiber, protein, potassium, manganese, magnesium, niacin and iron.
Whole Abalone Glutinous Rice Dumpling HK$248 per piece
The Whole Abalone Glutinous Rice Dumpling is Yan Toh Heen’s signature dumpling using Chef Lau Yiu Fai’s traditional Cantonese recipe, with savoury ingredients such as lotus seeds, black mushrooms, roasted duck, salty egg yolk and pork, in addition to top quality Abalone.
Wagyu Beef Cheek and Porcini Glutinous Rice Dumpling HK$228 per piece
The Wagyu Beef Cheek and Porcini Glutinous Rice Dumplings feature Australian Wagyu and Porcini from Yunnan Provence in China. Yan Toh Heen’s Chef Lau Yiu Fai poaches the beef for 5-6 hours to make it extremely tender. The beef and porcini are then mixed with the glutinous rice and wrapped in the lotus leaf to seal in the rich beef and mushroom flavours.
