Wynyard Travel Agent Wins Spirit of Tasmania Promotion

Spirit of Tasmania

A Wynyard travel agent has won a JVC digital video camera thanks to a special incentives program, It Takes Two developed by Spirit of Tasmania.

Jonathon Seen, of Wynyard Travel Service was one of two lucky winners, whose name was drawn from thousands of accredited travel agents from throughout Australia who booked a fare on the new vessels between 1 August and 30 September.

Entry into the promotion, launched to celebrate the arrival of Spirit of Tasmania I and II, was automatic when travel agents made a booking.

TT-Line National Manager Passenger Sales and Marketing Melindy Green said the promotion was very popular among accredited travel agents.

The promotion formed part of the companies $5 million advertising, marketing and public relations program to launch the new service, she said.

Ms Green said the response from travel agents has been excellent.

This sort of promotion is important for two reasons it exposes agents to Tasmania recognising them as an important part of the distribution newtowrk and rewards tham for their support. It also introduces them to sea travel as a viable alternative to air travel, she said.

TT-Line is very positive about the future of tourism in Tasmania and is working hard to bring more people to the State so they can experience firsthand the States many wonderful attractions, she said.

Darren Sheridan from Harvey World Travel, Coffs Harbour won the second camera.
