Lombok, Indonesia (5 December 2017) – Wyndham Hotel Group's growth continues with the strategic expansion of its upscale Wyndham Hotels and Resorts® brand into Indonesia's spectacular Lombok Island, scheduled for opening in mid-2018.

The all-suite Wyndham Lombok Sundancer Resort is being developed by PT Wisata Bahagia Indonesia under a management agreement with PT Wyndham Hotel Management, an Indonesian subsidiary of Wyndham Hotel Group. The signing follows Wyndham's recent announcement of five newly acquired managed hotels under the upscale Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand and upper-upscale Wyndham Grand® brands in Bali and Palembang in Indonesia as well as Cam Ranh and Nha Trang in Vietnam. The company currently has more than 110 hotels throughout South East Asia and the Pacific Rim with 11 hotels and resorts branded under its Wyndham Grand, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, and Wyndham Garden® flags.

An idyllic island in Indonesia's West Nusa Tenggara province, Lombok is gaining international repute for its pristine beaches, spectacular diving, clear waters and challenging surf breaks, which are among the world's best. To the north of the island lies Mount Rinjani, Indonesia's second highest volcano, offering outdoor enthusiasts a scenic ascent to the peak with lush hiking trails leading to waterfalls, hot springs and a picturesque crater lake. An increasing number of regional and domestic carriers now fly directly into Lombok International Airport, which is only a short 30-minute flight from Bali and two hours and 30 minutes from Singapore.

David Wray, Vice President, Acquisitions and Development of Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and the Pacific Rim, said “Aside from Bali, which continues to be a crowd favourite, Indonesia has plenty of spectacular destinations like Lombok that will excite adventure seeking travellers thanks to its unspoiled natural landscape. With an increasing number of direct flights into Lombok from Asia Pacific's key gateway cities, we are certain the appeal of Lombok will continue to grow in the coming years.”

“The Wyndham brand is synonymous with distinctive stay experiences and comforts that exceed expectations across our 106 locations worldwide. Wyndham Lombok Sundancer Resort will be a strategic addition to our portfolio, appealing to travellers looking for a restful resort getaway with its excellent wellness and leisure facilities,” added Mr. Wray.

Wyndham Lombok Sundancer is set on 48 hectares of beachfront land in Southern Lombok and offers close proximity to one of the world's most famous surfing breaks, Desert Point. The all-suite resort will feature 66 one and two-bedroom suites with a living area overlooking the Lombok Straits and its surrounding islets.

The resort will offer a host of leisure facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, a 900 square metre pool with a swim-up bar and deep water area for diving lessons. A private beach club with a bar will be located on the beachfront as well as an outdoor activity provider offering water activities such as jetskiing, windsurfing and diving excursions.

Extensive spa and wellness facilities are available onsite with male and female only sections as well as mixed areas. Within the compound, guests can pamper themselves in the steam rooms and saunas or reap the benefits of contrast hydrotherapy in the warm Jacuzzis and cold plunge pools. The spa will also offer private and couple treatment rooms including some with bath tubs for full body pampering and massages. Beauty services are available at the salon located within the facility offering manicures and pedicures plus makeup and hair styling.

All Wyndham Hotel Group hotels across South East Asia and Pacific Rim participate in Wyndham Rewards®, the simple-to-use, revolutionary loyalty program from Wyndham Hotel Group that offers members a generous points earning structure along with a flat, free-night redemption rate.
