WTM Gets Own TV Programme With Travel Channel

WTM

World Travel Market has teamed up with Travel Channel the leading dedicated travel and holiday TV channel - to broadcast a half hour programme on the event in November to more than 80 countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The Travel Channel programme will report on the latest exhibitor developments, new products and services and key issues during World Travel Market week at Londons ExCeL (Monday 8 Thursday 11 November).

Fiona Jeffery, Group Exhibition Director said that this is the second year that World Travel Market had worked with Travel Channel.

Although this is a business to business exhibition, the partnership provides valuable additional consumer coverage for exhibitors and visitors as well as keeping holidaymakers in touch with the latest trends and developments.

It is important that holidaymakers understand the significance and importance of the business conducted during World Travel Market week.

What is discussed and negotiated here will influence their future holiday trends and choices.

Travel Channels Petra Shepherd said We are delighted to be working closely with World Travel Market as it celebrates its 25th Anniversary, and look forward to producing a special half hour programme bringing the latest news from the worlds biggest industry to millions of would-be holidaymakers across three continents.

In addition to the programme on World Travel Market, Travel Channel will also be a partner in the major World Travel Market and Travel Weekly Passport Competition, aimed at travel agents, where prizes include two cars donated by leading car rental company, Hertz and up to 20 educational trips around the world.

Launched in 1994, Travel Channel offers a mix of its own destination filming, popular holiday ideas, culture and lifestyle shows, including food and drink, wildlife, art and culture, documentaries and youth programmes. On June 1st 2004, Lunn Poly the UKs largest travel agent (part of TUI UK) signed a deal with Travel Channel to launch its first television shopping channel. Showcasing a wide range of holidays, from cruises to beach deals, Lunn Poly Television transmits 18 hours a day at EPG 638.
