Mrs Pinel’s 1st visit to the WTM, will be an opportunity for the press to hear about France’s tourism facts & figures, and to discuss the new projects and initiatives under way.
France welcomed 83 million out of 1 billion tourists from around the world in 2012, representing 8% of the world tourism industry. France has confirmed its place on the global stage as the forerunner in international tourism.
Tourism is one of the main dynamic sectors of the French economy, with an added value of €41.6 billion, a production of €84.7 billion and +€7.8 billon in surplus on the National Balance Sheet. Tourism represents 7% of the French GDP and generates nearly 3 million jobs around the country.
Thanks to its many assets, France has always attracted both Leisure, and Meeting & Incentive travellers. However, with the competition becoming harder and tourism demand swiftly and constantly changing, France is determined to stay ahead of the group, whether that be Spain, USA, Italy, China or one of the many others.
During the recent National Tourism Conference, new projects aimed at keeping Tourism as an important part of the general national development, along with a new strategy for Atout France - the France Tourism Development Agency - were announced.
Sylvia Pinel and Christian Mantei - Head of Atout France Worldwide - will be on the France stand (EM 1700) in Zone N7 to meet with you from 3pm tot 3.30 pm
If you would like a specific appointment, please contact Atout France's London office.
