The grand opening of Lake Austin Spa Resort�s newest addition�the spectacular 25,000 square foot LakeHouse Spa�coincides with the unveiling of more than 100 new body treatments and healing therapies from Texas and around the world.

When business partners Michael McAdams and Billy Rucks purchased Lake Austin Spa Resort more than seven years ago, they set out on a journey to create a sanctuary where guests could experience total rejuvenation of the mind, body and spirit. Their vision is realized in April when the doors of the new LakeHouse Spa open with 30 individual treatment areas, including outdoor poolside cabanas and screened porches. All of the treatment rooms have their own shower, a customized sound system with five choices for music, including many of Austin�s famed musicians.

Separate locker rooms and lounge areas for female and male guests are complete with oversized whirlpool hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, private sunbathing courtyards and beautifully landscaped gardens with sculptures and unique water features.

�We wanted to make sure that our male guests feel completely comfortable and relaxed while they�re here. So we�ve designed treatments specifically for them, including an invigorating pedicure using coffee grounds and Dead Sea salts to rub away the rough spots,� says Executive Spa Director, Lynne Vertrees.

The new list of options introduces a fun �Just for Teens� line that appeals to teenage girls. Hip labels such as �Nail Candy Manicure,� �Bye Bye Blemishes,� and �Chill Out Massage� draw teenagers keenly concerned about their skin, bodies and overall appearance.

Vertrees and a staff of more than sixty therapists enhance the stay at one of the country�s leading destination spas with a full menu of treatments from a variety of massages, body wraps, facials and other treatments based on the ancient healing practices of Aromatherapy, Ayurveda, Hydrotherapy, Moor Therapy and Thalassotherapy. Vertrees looks to her natural surroundings when creating many of the healing treatments. A pecan tree orchard provides inspiration for the Texas Pecan Scrub. Peppermint, spearmint, rosemary and lavender are gathered from the herb garden to use in body scrubs. And plump, juicy figs hanging from trees growing near the lake bestows divine inspiration for the spa�s signature treatment, Fruits of the Shore.

A new Iris Salon also opens within LakeHouse Spa with complete hair, makeup and nail services. The spa also features La Bella Donna makeup, a mineral-based, hypo-allergenic and non-comedogenic line that contains a natural SPF 20.

The spa introduces several new Day Spa Resort Packages for area residents. Couples may choose to relax before their wedding with �Bridal Essentials� and �The Well-Groomed Groom� packages that include facials, massages, manicures, hairstyling, lunch and a spa gift. Younger guests can primp for the prom or other big events with a �Teen Dream� offering. �Over the Top for Two� caters to couples and starts with some private time in the Bamboo Room - a secluded outdoor suite. They can relax in an outdoor hot tub, enjoy spa treatments, lunch and time alone in a private garden with tandem treatment tents, complete with an outdoor shower and hot tub.
