Leo Trippi

Last month, multi-award winning travel company, Leo Trippi, which specialises in exceptional luxury ski holidays and mountain escapes launched The Leo Trippi Awards. With the 2022/23 ski season coming to a close, the Leo Trippi Awards aims to celebrate some of the more unique features of a luxury ski chalet.

With six categories in total, entries were narrowed down to a final shortlist of four chalets per category. Voting was open to all and took place across e-mail and social media with only a few votes separating the top two chalets in some categories. This is the first year of the Leo Trippi Awards but due to its success, it is set to become an annual event. For now, here are the Leo Trippi Awards 2023 winners…

Most Unique Bathtub: Chalet Lhotse, Val d'Isere

Chalet Lhotse's striking bathtub is hewn from one solid piece of stone, weights over a tonne and is so large that the chalet had to be built around it! Ultra-luxurious and family-friendly, this impressive chalet sleeps up to 14 guests in total.

Most Majestic Master Bedroom: Chalet Arula 1, Lech

Chalet Arula 1's spectacular master suite is as roomy as a whole apartment with its own lounge, walk-in wardrobe and spacious bathroom. Boasting ski-in/ski-out access, a cinema room, spa and wine cellar, this is the ultimate luxury mountain retreat.

Best Chalet Entertainment: Chalet Marco Polo, Val d'Isere

Start your engines at Chalet Marco Polo and race against your friends and family on an 8-person interactive racing car game. Think Scalextric…but for adults! That's not all. The chalet also has a games room with a pool table and darts board, a wine cave and a gold-leaf covered indoor pool designed by Christian Lacroix.

Most Spoiling Spa: Chalet Les Bruxellois, Courchevel 1850

With a beautiful indoor swimming pool featuring a striking mountain backdrop, a Nordic bath, hammam, sauna and massage room, it would be hard to find a more opulent chalet spa. There's even a second Nordic bath and a barrel sauna on the terrace. Home to seven stunning suites, Chalet Les Bruxellois is the perfect spot to unwind in the mountains.

Best Hidden Chalet Feature: HakuVillas Super Penthouse, Niseko

Whilst the interior of this stylish penthouse is sure to take your breath away, step outside onto the rooftop and you'll be amazed to find Niseko's largest private onsen with water piped straight from a volcanic source.  Located in Upper Hirafu Village, the penthouse is perfectly positioned for accessing the slopes and offers breathtaking views of Mount Yotei from its three levels.

Most Mouthwatering Afternoon Tea: Chesa Musi II, St Moritz

After working up an appetite on the slopes, the lure of afternoon tea awaits at Chesa Musi II. Sit back and relax with a glass of pink champagne whilst you enjoy a delectable afternoon tea prepared by your private chef in the comfort of your own chalet. Located in the exclusive Suvretta area of St Moritz, this bright and spacious chalet has exceptional views over the Engadine valley and is ideal for larger groups.
