A review of hotel performance by Deloitte, the business advisory firm, showed that on the opening night of the games, revenue per available room (revPAR) in the city's hotels increased by an incredible 546 per cent to US$390.
Occupancy reached 86.3 per cent, as average room rates increased by 421 per cent to US$451.
The following two nights also saw strong growth in occupancy and average room rates, with bumper results reported for the remainder of the event.
