Recognising excellence in the region�s travel and tourism industry, the World Travel Awards are being presented for the first time at the Swiss�tel GRAND Shanghai on June 19.

ALTM, which opens at the nearby Shanghai Exhibition Centre on June 17, is nominated in the �Best Leading Travel Exhibition� category.

Honouring companies and destinations that have contributed most to the region�s amazing success, the World Travel Awards are acknowledged as the ultimate accolade for travel products. The Wall Street Journal describes them as the �Oscars of the travel industry�.

Attended by senior executives from major travel companies, operators and destinations, WTA events are also renowned for providing top-level networking opportunities.

The event is part of the World Travel Awards Grand Tour with regional awards staged throughout the world, culminating in a Grand Final in Turks & Caicos in the Caribbean on December 12.

ALTM has proved a magnet for travel product events and launches as the world�s luxury travel leaders converge on Shanghai, including Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is launching its new route to Shanghai during the prominent luxury travel show.
