Norfolk and Suffolk Cultural Highlights – Summer 2016

The East is home to art and culture that welcomes the world, challenges expectations and leaves you changed.  Highlighted below are just a handful of this summer's must-see, worth-travelling-for events.  All will form the centre of a wonderful weekend away in the East and will suit all manner of cultural tastes.

Alberto Giacometti: A Line Through Time.  Sainsbury Centre, Norwich. 23 April-29 August

Norfolk & Norwich Festival. Friday 13 – Sunday 29 May

Pulse Festival, Ipswich. Thursday 26 May – Saturday 4 June

Aldeburgh Festival, Snape Maltings, Suffolk. Friday 10 – Sunday 26 June

One of Europe's top classical music festivals.  Highlights include Catalogue d'Oiseaux, a sunrise to midnight journey through music and nature and the world premiere of a new staging of Benjamin Britten's Illuminations. aldeburgh.co.uk.

British Art Show, Norwich. Friday 24 June – Sunday 4 September

The UK's most ambitious and influential contemporary art exhibition shows over 100 works by more than 40 artists at 5 locations around the city.  britishartshow8.com.

Latitude, Henham Park, Suffolk. Thursday 14 July – Sunday 17 July

Pioneering and award-winning, this highlight of the summer festival season has an even wider range of music, comedy, theatre and alternative performance in its impressive lineup this year. latitudefestival.com.
