It's one of Amarillo's largest annual events.
It celebrates our history and heritage.
And it's going to stay here through 2015.
The World Championship Ranch Rodeo, produced by the Working Ranch Cowboys Association (WRCA), has signed an agreement with the Amarillo Civic Center and the Amarillo Convention & Visitor Council (CVC) to produce the 2013, 2014 and 2015 rodeos in Amarillo!
"This has become our city's signature event. Everything about the World Championship Ranch Rodeo reflects our core history and heritage, from cowboys to family values to great entertainment, and it is one way to step into the real Texas," Dan Quandt, Executive Director of the Amarillo CVC, says.
"The WRCA is very happy and proud to keep this world-class event in our hometown of Amarillo. The all-under-one-roof facilities, the yearly improvements and the good friends we have made over our first 17 years in Amarillo make this a great place to be through our 20th annual championship in 2015," Mandy Morton, WRCA manager, says.
This year marks the 17th year of the World Championship Ranch Rodeo. It attracts participants and spectators from around the country, especially across the Western half of the U.S. The weekend represents more than $2 million in economic impact across the city of Amarillo, from hotels, restaurants and gas stations to feed stores, retailers and dry cleaners (yes, cowboys like crisp, starched shirts so dry cleaners often see extra business).
The World Championship Ranch Rodeo has performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and a fourth performance on Sunday afternoon. Tickets are available for Thursday and Sunday online through panhandletickets.com and in person at United Supermarkets and the Amarillo Civic Center Box Office.
