Véronique, the mountain hut keeper
Véronique looks after the Refuge des Alpes, in Orelle, in the Maurienne Valley. She loves welcoming hikers from all walks of life. She sees herself as a link between two worlds: people who live in the valleys and the harsh environment of the high-altitude mountains. At the entrance of the refuge, she has put a sign saying 'No internet connection. Here we talk!'
Édith, the beekeeper
Edith is a honey producer in Albiez-le-Jeune, in the Maurienne Valley. She welcomes visitors in her guest house at 1,200m and offers workshop for people interested in learning about beekeeping and making honey.
Flavie, the nurse and farmer
At La Ferme des Roches Fleuries, in St Gervais Mont-Blanc, Flavie looks after goats and cows. She milks them early in the morning before heading to the local hospital (Hôpitaux du Mont-Blanc) where she works as a nurse in the A&E department.
This super-woman welcomes visitors to her farm which is part of the 'Bienvenue a la ferme' network.

Emeline, owner of a laying hen farm
For 3 years Emeline worked on her project of having a laying hen farm. She opened La Fermette d'Emeline in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, in Aiguebelle, in the Maurienne Valley. Her hens run freely in the 20,000sqm land surrounding the farm. At the entrance of the farm, there is a chalet open to visitors who want to buy her organic eggs. They can just help themselves and put their payment in an honesty box.
