Meet the Leaders at the next Women in Tourism event

Save the date for the inaugural Women in Tourism Leaders Speed Mentoring event

Do you want to spend one-on-one time with some of the top women in the Australian tourism industry? You can at the next Women in Tourism event.

Next month, Women in Tourism will run its first Speed Mentoring evening.

50 mentors, 50 attendees and 50 minutes of fast and furious mentoring-focussed networking.

With mentors coming from all parts of the industry including the media, destination management, government, tourism business and start-ups, PR, events and hotels, this is your chance to ask burning questions, ask for advice or simply introduce yourself to some of the big names in Australian travel.

Kirsten Rowlingson from Virgin in-flight magazine's Voyeur magazine, Astrid Mulholland-Licht from the Austrian National Tourism Board, Carolyn Childs from My Travel Research and Lisa Hobbs from Dedes Group are just a few of the big names who will be there on the night.

In another first, Women in Tourism is partnering with local charity Dress for Success Sydney to raise funds and provide support to women re-entering the workforce. 100% of booking fees will go directly to Dress for Success Sydney and there will be a handbag and cash donation drop-off zone on the night. If you have an unwanted quality and work appropriate handbag in excellent condition, please bring it along and donate it to a good cause. Work appropriate jewellery (necklaces, bracelets/bangles and earrings) in all colours are also very welcome.

About Vibe Rushcutters Bay

Vibe Hotel Rushcutters Bay has been transformed into the most exciting hotel and dining space in Sydney's east offering stylish and superbly comfortable new spaces just a stone's throw from the city, Double Bay, Paddington and beautiful Bondi Beach. The new cool and contemporary 1950s Palm Springs theme throughout incorporates free flowing design and lush greenery to blur the boundaries between indoors and the parklands outside.

The 243-room and 15-suite hotel refurbished its rooms, lobby, bar and dining area, and rooftop pool deck to create beautiful, tranquil areas that embrace its stellar location overlooking Rushcutters Bay Park and one of Sydney's most peaceful sections of harbour. The Master Suite offers a huge separate lounge and dining area, two bathrooms and a private balcony overlooking the scenery.

The ground-floor bar and dining area, with its covered veranda and outdoor terrace, have been transformed into new dining venue Storehouse on The Park. Open from breakfast until late to hotel guests, locals and four-legged friends, it has great coffee, light bites and a menu offering seasonal local produce. The hotel's upgraded meeting areas now allow for creative indoor and outdoor catered events and cocktail functions for up to 200 guests.

About Dress for Success Sydney

Dress for Success Sydney empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing them with professional clothing, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and life.

If you cannot afford to dress appropriately for an interview you stand a very high chance of being discriminated against. Over 80,000 women are registered as seeking employment in NSW. Many of these women have experienced discrimination and disadvantage based on appearance, disability, criminal history, ethnicity or simply a lack of self-belief in their ability to be successful.

Dress for Success exists to remove barriers to overcome discrimination, empowering women, one woman at a time, through building confidence and providing the basic tools and skills, to take charge of their lives and create a brighter future, not just for themselves but for their families and communities.

Your cash, handbag and jewellery donations will go a long way to ensure these women are being supported.
