Join The Arts Practitioner at Wolterton Park from Friday 7th to Monday 10th of February 2020 for a cultural weekend of drawing tuition from acclaimed artists Jacques Nimki and Stephanie Douet.
Inspired by the sumptuous visuals and drawing devices of Peter Greenway's classic 1982 film; The Draughtsman's Contract, this unique experience includes:
- Warm-up exercises designed to break guests out of your artistic inhibitions, habits and pre-conceptions.
- Technical exercises to sharpen your perceptions and accuracy.
- Composition development using Wolterton Hall, its views, architecture and objects, as well as life-drawing 'living statues' models on location.
- One-to-one tuition and mentoring with group discussions, aimed at fostering an unselfconscious curiosity and pleasure in experiment.
Suitable for all levels, guests will find plenty to stretch and challenge all aspects of their drawing practice using the architecture, views and landscape of beautiful Wolterton Hall as inspiration.
Wolterton Park is the perfect setting, providing peace and tranquillity and over 500 acres of stunning parkland and gardens, including East Anglia's largest walled garden.
Guests will stay in Wolterton Hall's spectacular East Wing – a grade I listed building designed by John Stanley Repton, son of Humphrey. And the three-night inclusive package includes arts tuition and mentoring, luxury accommodation plus home cooked meals for £800 per person.
Places are limited to 8 people. For a full timetable of the weekend's activities and to book, please email info@woltertonpark.co.uk

About Wolterton Park
A historic Grade I listed Georgian estate, Wolterton Park is one of the four great eighteenth century power houses of Norfolk. Built by Horatio Walpole, the brother of our first prime minister, the property is inspired by Palladio.
Four renovated properties are available as self-catering holiday lets and The Main Hall is due for completion in 2020. About the artists
Jacques Nimki studied at the Chelsea School of Art and the Royal Academy schools. His work was included in Art of the Garden at the Tate Britain in 2004. More recently he has had solo exhibitions at the Ikon gallery in Birmingham and at the Approach in London and is currently art-in-residence at Plas Glyn y Weddw gallery in Wales.
Nimki works from and within the urban landscape, using mainly weeds and flowers as a way of exploring how we perceive others and ourselves within particular environments.
Stephanie Douet is a self-taught painter and sculptor who has a BA Hons in History from UEA and an MA in Fine Art from the Norwich University of Arts. She makes richly coloured paintings, sculptures and installations inspired by her reading and looking at Chinoiserie, historical optics and Mughal miniatures.
Currently in receipt of Arts Council England funding for developing her creative practise, she is on the shortlist for the Contemporary British Painting Prize, with solo exhibitions at Modern Art Oxford Project Space, Udaipur City Palace and the Museum of the History of Science, Technology and Medicine.
