This season Picnic Island is offering short stays for people who want to experience life on their own private island.

Take the first plane from Sydney or Melbourne on a Saturday morning and the last plane home on Sunday night and you will be transported to another world for the weekend. Or alternatively make a long weekend of it and stay an extra night.

Sleeping in rustic cabins right on the shoreline you will have the place to yourselves. We have a beautifully fitted out lounge cantilevered over the high water mark with suspended fireplace and lots of books and games to relax into island life.

The coming months is whale watching season and there is a good chance you could see whales either from the island of if you go on one of the local boat charter trips to Wineglass Bay. Dolphins and seals are also regularly spotted and you will be sleeping within a seabird colony so sightings of our local penguins after dark are guaranteed.

For this special deal we are offering early check ins and late checkouts for those who want to spend a bit longer in Tasmania.

And the weather? Dont be scared off by winter in Tasmania on the east coast. We have lots of sunshine and still, crisp days to get out and about fishing, hiking or just relaxing on the deck.
