(DENVER, CO) Across the West and the majestic Rocky Mountains, some of the big trends for the 2014/2014 ski season include:
- Gastronomy On-The-Move. With the explosion of experiential travel in recent years, travelers are loading up their schedules with anything from backcountry excursions to helicopter rides – and little time to eat. This season, the hotel/resort industry is meeting guests half-way by offering “on-the-go” options and slopeside treats that allow guests to re-fuel and stay in the action.
- Expert Experiences. After a successful 2014 Winter Olympics and with snow sports gaining more celebrity status, professional athletes are in demand this season. Playing off this trend, hotels and resorts are creating new experiences that allow guests to rub elbows with the actual pros and learn from the masters of the craft.
- Comes With Gear. Hotels are adding on to experiential adventures this season with custom gear guests get to keep. Resorts are joining forces with some of the snow industry's top gear companies, providing guests with “swag bags” that not only keep guests protected and stylish, but also serve as keepsake reminders of the experience.
- Beyond the Slopes. The mountains are full of winter activity, and hotels are offering plenty of experiences that go beyond the standard ski vacation. As the West continues to attract a wide variety of visors, the hospitality industry is offering experiences that cater to all types of winter travelers from helicopter safaris to luxury ladies packages.
Viceroy Snowmass: The award-winning luxury resort hotel and residence is located only minutes from downtown Aspen in the heart of Snowmass Base Village. For couples, families and friends, Viceroy Snowmass offers ski-in/ski-out residences complemented by imaginative dining and lounging, a Ute-inspired wellness spa, and a year-round pool terrace and café — an ideal setting for an Aspen Snowmass vacation during any season.
- Burritos-To-Go: Viceroy Snowmass will offer fresh and ready breakfast burritos available on demand right from the ski concierge. This power packed breakfast is the perfect meal to take on the gondola, saving valuable time for skiing and providing fuel to keep guests going.
- You Catch, We Cook: In conjunction with Aspen Outfitting Company, Viceroy Snowmass will offer guests a chance to go out and hunt their next meal - taking “farm-to-table” to the next level. Following a successful hunt in the local countryside, Viceroy Snowmass' Executive Chef Will Nolan will teach guests everything there is to know about breaking down the animal and preparing it for a meal.
- New Culinary Openings at Viceroy Snowmass:
- Nest Public House – In its first full season, slope-side and poolside Nest Public House's gastro pub inspired menu bursts with refreshing and hearty dining options. To complete the gastro pub experience is a Colorado tradition of craft style beers, ales and stouts, as hand crafted as the food and just as delicious in their own right.
- RICARD – Viceroy Snowmass' latest culinary venture is located a few minutes away from the resort in Base Village. With a nod to Parisian street-side café culture, RICARD offers inspired cuisine and beverages at a fair price and is ideal for a gathering of bons amis. Dine inside or on the sun-drenched patio. Helmed by Executive Chef Will Nolan, the restaurant's menu will feature salads, sandwiches, entrées, desserts created by pastry chef Ashley Jenkin and a section just for mussels.

Travelers can spend the day with the twins on the mountain skiing, sharing a meal and taking in the epic races.
