The best in travel writing, photography and broadcasting were honoured at the fifth annual British Travel Press Awards.
The awards ceremony was held at RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) in London on 20 November, with an audience of more than 250 travel writers, journalists, broadcasters, photographers, editors and senior members of the UK travel industry.
Kingley Event Management, the creator of the awards, recruited a panel of senior travel industry executives, specialist travel PR companies, alongside some top travel editors to judge over 350 entries to judge over 350 entries to the 2013 Awards, ranging from national newspapers, consumer and trade titles, online travel titles, travel guide books and television and radio programmes.
Giles Harper, Commercial Director of Kingley Event Management, said: 'The media are hugely important to the travel industry, but until now not enough recognition has been given by the industry to the many exceptional writers and broadcasters who specialise in the sector.
'The Travel Press Awards have received tremendous support from the industry, as witnessed from all of the judges and sponsors who have supported the awards.'
