Wine + Workouts = Wellness in Napa Valley 

Napa Valley Cabernet Season, now through April, is a time when the region pairs wine with wellness to celebrate balance, healthy eating—and of course—Cabernet Sauvignon. This year, local inns and wineries have put together new overnight packages and offerings, from Philosophie superfood cleanses and detox massages at Harvest Inn to private barre classes at Vineyard 29. 

Relax-Inns

Upon arrival, guests receive a complimentary bottle of wine and spend the rest of the day tasting at two of St. Helena's premier wineries, followed by dinner at Tra Vigne restaurant.  Then for the next two days*, guests undergo a cleanse from Philosophie full of superfood smoothies, healthy soups, and other fiber and protein-rich foods, plus two 60-minute detox massages. *Guests may spend one or two nights cleansing at the hotel; package is a minimum two-night stay. Guests participate in an eco-fitness class, which includes hiking across Meadowood's miles of trails, stopping along the way for strength-training exercises and internal training. Also included are a fitness assessment and personal training session as well as access to complimentary fitness classes and sports. Packages start at $1800 per couple for a two-night stay. Westin Verasa Napa and yoga expert Laurel Attanasio are teaming up to offer a new five-day yoga retreat, March 17-22. The retreat caters to guests of all experience levels as participants actually create their own programs from an itinerary Attanasio has put together. The week will be full of superfood menus, healthy eating discussions, rejuvenating spa treatments and wine tastings throughout the Valley. Two-night retreat also available.

Winery Wellness

Vineyard29, open by appointment only, invites groups of 6-10 to book an outdoor private Pilates or barre class, followed by a winery tour, tasting, wine-paired lunch from local purveyors and souvenir bottle of wine. First-timers to seasoned yogis are invited to join local yoga pros for yoga classes followed by a tour of the vineyard and open-air brunch paired with Domaine Carneros' sparkling wines. Available by appointment only for groups of 8-10; prices start at $125 per person.
