Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort Launches New State-of-the-Art Spa, 'The Spa at Windjammer Landing'

Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort

July 2015 – Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort in Saint Lucia has unveiled details of its new luxury wellness centre, The Spa at Windjammer Landing. The striking 6,500 square foot spa overlooking the picturesque and tranquil Labrelotte Bay officially opens on 1st July 2015.

Windjammer Landing has partnered with a Naturopathic Doctor, native to the island of Saint Lucia, to develop a signature skincare collection and holistic spa service menu, using a powerful blend of fresh ingredients from plant and vegetation grown in abundance on the island. The Spa will also introduce globally acclaimed skin care line, Kerstin Florian, created around the four core lifestyle practices of Proper Nutrition, Regular Exercise, Peace of Mind, and Care of Face & Body.

Standout features of the new spa include six spacious treatment rooms including two couples' treatment rooms – one of which comes complete with a Japanese soaking tub, outdoor rain shower and private patio. In addition, the spa will include a relaxation room, juice bar, manicure and pedicure stations, separate male and female steam rooms, and a herb garden, where many of the plants and ingredients used in the spa experiences will be harvested.

Guests will be able to enjoy a wide selection of luxurious beauty and wellbeing treatments including travellers' reprieve massages, seaweed body wraps and correcting facials, using locally-sourced ingredients such as fruit enzymes, vitamin C and raw cacao, and incorporating products from high antioxidant and mineral rich skin care brand Kerstin Florian. The signature treatments will be a must for all guests. These 80-minute services are highly customised to minimise aging and provide a true healing experience. They will incorporate warm basalt stones, bamboo stick massage, and 16-point acupressure facial massage using a custom essential oil blend. The detoxifying volcanic mud bath combines seaweed, local volcanic ash and naturally heated, mineralised waters to nourish and regenerate the skin.

In addition to the spa, the resort is adding a new fully-equipped gym, which will comprise a separate exercise studio, along with outdoor yoga deck. Fitness fans will not be disappointed with the variety of classes available from the core conditioning body pump and boot camp style circuit training, to the more holistic-based aqua programmes such as hydrotherapy and the invigorating stand up paddle yoga. Customised private classes and personal training will be offered based on plyometric inspired training, and new Cybex equipment will be available.  The spa will be adding full moon meditation and tai chi as part of its wellness programme and will offer a Private After Hours Spa Experience, involving a couples retreat followed by a candlelit spa treatment and dinner served by a private butler in the spa garden.

However, wellness activities will not be offered exclusively to adults; children's yoga will be added to the resort's kids' club programme and the resort will be providing wellness activities for the whole family to enjoy, such as fun, educational classes in the herb garden and making scrubs using natural ingredients.

The spa was designed by Atelier Architects and the interiors were designed by IDC (International Design Concepts). The fresh, modern interior has been inspired by its natural surroundings, inviting the outdoors inside with the use of high ceilings and large windows drenched in natural light whilst showcasing stunning vistas of the Caribbean Sea. The reception area features a striking water feature to create a serene and tranquil ambience as soon as guests enter the spa. The Juice Bar will serve delicious and nutritious fresh juices and smoothies, tailored to the individual treatments and experiences, and created using fresh herbs and spices grown in the spa's very own herb garden.

Mark Ozawa, Managing Director at the resort says: “I am hugely excited about the forthcoming launch of The Spa at Windjammer Landing which will provide an oasis of relaxation and wellness for our guests, as well as raising the bar in spa standards on the island. The opening of the spa also marks a milestone in an ongoing series of renovations at the resort, which includes an extensive beach expansion project which has enlarged the beach by an additional 16,000 square feet as well as the start of an intensive refurbishment programme which will upgrade all of the 161 units over the next few years.”

To celebrate the launch, The Spa at Windjammer Landing will be offering a complimentary skin analysis for every adult guest of the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort for a limited time only and subject to availability.
