Fit adventure seekers from around the world will congregate in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo, in December for the seventh annual Mild Seven Outdoor Quest, one of the world's leading adventure races.
The Mild Seven Outdoor Quest is a four-day adventure race. The main event includes seven sports and covers approximately 300 kilometers. Mild Seven Outdoor Quest challenges strength and endurance but it is not an extreme race and for the most part, does not require highly technical adventure or wilderness skills. Contestants race from the Top to the Tip of Borneo. Athletes will be ascending South East Asia's highest mountain, the majestic Mt. Kinabalu and finish on the spectacular northern-most tip of Borneo near the city of Kudat. The track cuts through some of the regions most spectacular natural areas, snaking through wilderness, uneven terrain, and water.
The race is divided into 4 stages, covering approximately 300 kilometers and testing the athletes' abilities in 7 sporting disciplines:
- Mountain biking - Kayaking - In-line skating - Adventure skills (including abseiling) - Paddling - Running - Team biathlon (running & biking)
