Win a trip to Vilnius! The Lithuanian Tourism Office in the UK has teamed up with specialist tour operators Baltic Holidays and Regent Holidays to provide accommodation for two guests for two nights at either the Mabre Hotel or Hotel Amberton respectively, with flights being provided by Wizz Air. That's two prizes, each for two people, both with flights!
The Mabre Hotel, provided by Baltic Holidays, has been a great favourite with their clients for the last ten years. Housed in a converted 13th century monastery set around a peaceful courtyard, the Mabre has a calm, friendly and warm atmosphere. Located in the heart of the Old Town close to all the major sites, the hotel's facilities include a sauna, plunge pool, beauty centre and a fantistic restaurant, “Steakhouse Hazienda,“ famous for its superb steaks.
Hotel Amberton, provided by Regent Holidays, is a great four-star hotel located in the centre of Vinius, opposite the Cathedral. Formerly known as the City Park Hotel, the renamed Hotel Amberton has an excellent restaurant 'Le Gout' with views of the Cathedral. There is also a newly renovated sauna and plunge pool. The rooms are modern with cable TV, mini-bar and free internet access.
Accessibility to Lithuania from the UK is already well established with flights leaving from London, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Birmingham, Doncaster and Bristol. However, it is set to rise with the introduction of a flight between Glasgow and Vilnius. It will be the first time the capital has been served as a destination from Glasgow Airport and Wizz Air - the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe - will operate a year round, twice weekly service starting on 16 September 2015.
Lithuania is a treasure trove of natural beauty and one of Europe's best kept secrets. Vilnius' baroque old town, Ninth Fort, Trakai Castle and the Curonian Spit are just a few gems waiting to be discovered and part of what earned Lithuania 3rd place in Lonely Planet's 'Top Countries for 2015'.
