Mustang Monument Wild Horse Eco Resort Picks up Coveted 'Into the Wild' Award at the Tatler Travel Awards 2015

San Diego, USA, London, UK December 15th 2014: Launched in June 2014, Mustang Monument Wild Horse Eco Resort is a magnificent sanctuary for the protected Mustang horse. Combined with a luxury eco-resort, the unbelievable destination is set in the wide open spaces of north-eastern Nevada and offers guests an unforgettable Wild West adventure.

What a year it's been!

Madeleine Pickens, founder of Mustang Monument Wild Horse Eco Resort recently came to London to accept the Eco Resort's award for 'Into the Wild' at the Tatler Travel Awards 2015, an astounding achievement considering Mustang Monument has only been open for one season.

In the words of Tatler, Mustang Monument is 'the ultimate Wild West adventure'. Created, owned and run by the passionate and philanthropic Madeleine, the sanctuary is 900 square miles of desert and mountains dedicated to giving a home to America's threatened Mustangs. All profits from the resort are ploughed back into saving the horses that played a pivotal role in the history of the West.

With luxury hand-painted tipis and sumptuous cottages, this is not just a sanctuary for the wild horses. Guests have the opportunity to truly escape to a life-changing world of remote natural beauty where fresh air and stunning wide open spaces are high on the agenda.

Saving the wild horses has not been easy, and during her visit to London, Madeleine also made a visit to the CNBC Europe studios where she talked about her journey to save 650 wild horses and give them a new home.

With the recent success of the GoPro video, now climbing up to over three million views on Youtube, Madeleine hopes that the Mustang horses will receive the attention they deserve. The beautiful video put together by GoPro features resident cowboy and rodeo champion, Clay Nannini and his own story of growing up in the saddle.

It certainly brings home the raw beauty, the drama, and the wilderness mystique of Mustang Monument and the magnificent wild horses that are now safely rehomed.

But this is just the beginning. Madeleine is so excited about expanding her luxury eco-resort in 2015 to include brand new, once in a lifetime opportunities for her guests. Plans include the incredible California Trail Camp Out where guests will be given a chance to sleep in sumptuously refurbished pioneer wagons nestled between two magnificent mountain ranges on the vast Nevadan plains. With dinner cooked on a fireside cauldron, Native Americans singing of haunting myths, and an uninterrupted sky full of stars, the experience combines unbeatable luxury with an authentic Wild West Experience.

So watch this space!

Madeleine cannot thank everyone enough for the amazing support she has received in the past year. And on behalf of Madeleine and 650 Mustangs, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
