Normandy Tourism

Normandy is one of the top destinations for non-stop, child-friendly activities this spring. Whether it's on the coast or in the countryside, families will love our top five suggestions for what to see and do in Normandy over the Easter holidays.

1. 30 March-2 April: Easter Fair in the Pays de Bray (near Neufchatel-en-Bray)

Taking place all weekend in the picturesque Pay de Bray countryside, this Easter Fair in the village of Buchy will host a funfair all weekend, a donkey and chicken fair on the Sunday and a market boasting 200 stalls on the Monday morning. While older children will enjoy the rides, little ones will love befriending the animals and parents can peruse artisanal products and local produce galore.

2. 1 April: Buried treasure in the Perche (Saint-Cyr-la-Rosière)

Parents and children over six are invited to take part in a fun-filled treasure hunt at the Ecomuseum of the Perche, a beautiful old priory in the heart of the Perche Natural Regional Park. With an Easter egg trail and an 11am puppet show for children under six, there's something for the whole family.

3. 2 April: Easter egg hunt at the Chateau du Champ de Bataille (Le Neubourg)

Young and old alike will love this year's Easter egg hunt, which takes place at 10am in the beautiful gardens of the Chateau du Champ de Bataille, alongside carriage and pony rides, and a treasure hunt. The chateau's restaurant Café Garcia will also be serving a special Easter menu. Prizes include the coveted chocolate hen, made by renowned local chocolatier Michel Cluizel, and many other gifts.

Entry to the gardens costs €15 for adults, €10 for 12-16s and is free for under 12s | Taking part in the Easter egg hunt is free | lechateauduchampdebataille.com

4. 1, 9, 11 and 13 April: Family Days at the Abbey of the Mont-Saint-Michel

During this fun guided tour of the abbey, geared towards families with children aged 7-12, your guide will tell you all about the history of this world-famous monument and let visitors access previously unseen parts of the abbey. Tours last two hours and start at 11am and 2:30pm.
