When APPLE Inc. Puts The Spotlight On Travel

When Apple Computers Inc. shows a travel blog during a keynote speech, watched by 200 million people worldwide, it must mean that they like it.

And who wants to argue with Apple and say they have no taste?

This week, during the presentation of the new Safari, Craig Federighi, head of OS X development of Apple, showed how easy it is to "flash scroll" through the new browser by demonstrating this on the travel website www.classetouriste.be

The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC13) is held in San Francisco between 10 and 14 June 2013. The kick-off of this important conference is always with a key note speech showcasing the newest developments of Apple.

About Classe Touriste and the authors

What is it like to live out of a suitcase and travel around the world non-stop for a living? Partners in crime and journalist/photographer duo Debbie Pappyn and David De Vleeschauwer have been doing this with gusto for more than eight years.

The duo embark on voyages of discovery commissioned by and published in international titles such as Monocle Magazine, Lonely Planet Magazine, Vogue Living, the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, Gourmet Traveller in Australia...

The way they travel is important: single-minded, discriminating, opinionated, time intensive and independent. The result is compelling images and unique and secret places worth leaving home for. From Arctic expeditions amongst the Inuit in Canada and a peek behind the iron curtain of North Korea, to exotic explorations through Papua New Guinea, island hopping in Greece or culinary wanderings through Italy.

Their idiosyncratic travel website and blog classetouriste.be is a carefully selected collage of lesser known destinations and highlights in transit, with an emphasis on image and composition. On one.classetouriste.be, they post 1 picture a day while traveling, so you get a visual diary of somebody that almost travels 70% in the year.

When they got the message from a friend watching live the WWDC13, they were amazed and surprised that Apple used their travel website and blog as a show case. Despite print is still their main focus and business, Debbie and David know online is important, especially in the travel world. In the future they will keep working on Classe Touriste, presenting only the best in experiential and luxury travel.
