The former Delta Chelsea, Canada's largest hotel, has been re-branded as the Eaton Chelsea, Toronto, The Langham Hospitality Group's first Eaton hotel in Canada. PLACES & VENUES
On June 23, 2013 Harbourfront Centre officially opened Canada Square and Ontario Square – a 53,000 square foot urban park space, located at the heart of Toronto's central waterfront. Special guests Premier Kathleen Wynne and Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Michael Chan unveiled Ontario Square, highlighting the partnership between Harbourfront Centre and the Government of Ontario which made this spectacular new waterfront square possible. Erin Mills Town Centre, located in Mississauga, will undergo its first major renovation since opening in 1989, an investment of $100 million. The innovative redevelopment will be characterized by a sleek, contemporary design with a clean international style. Succeeding the existing clock tower will be a majestic architectural feature, an iconic glass sphere 283 feet in circumference that will pierce through the roof into the shopping centre's central court area. Existing skylights will be replaced with modern clerestory windows, affording visitors with additional natural light permeating the common areas. The expansive centre court will feature an awe-inspiring infinity pool, surrounded by contemporary communal seating acting as the striking backdrop for public events. Construction will commence this summer with Phase 1 of the brand new food court scheduled for completion in fall 2014. A new Target store will start construction in the fall of 2013 and will be open for business in the summer of 2014. The Falls Incline Railway project is an important development for The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) and its tourism partners. Construction on this new railway, which began in the fall of 2012, will vastly improve the links and service between Niagara Parks and the Fallsview tourist area. The previous service, built in 1966, was only available seasonally and was not accessible to all. The new $7 million provincially funded project will allow NPC to provide year-round service, and more importantly, allow visitors with disabilities and families with strollers, full and safe access to both NPC's Table Rock complex and the Fallsview tourism area. Jazz Bistro has opened in Downtown Toronto's theatre district after a $3 million renovation on the site of the former Senator Steakhouse and Top O' The Senator Jazz club at 251 Victoria Street. The main floor boasts a 70 seat dining room and 20 seat bar and has a centre stage that proudly houses a one of a kind custom Steinway Grand Piano called the Red Pops. Music holds court Tuesday to Saturday night and Sunday brunch with national and international musicians in genres from Jazz to Cabaret. Pre theatre dining can accommodate a single reservations or groups up to 100. MOVE & GROOVE TreeTop Eco-Adventure Park, located east of Downtown Toronto in Oshawa, has an updated children's course which now features its own zip line. The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is the sole Canadian venue to host Mesopotamia during its international tour. Located in the heart of downtown Toronto next door to the iconic CN Tower, the Ripley's Aquarium of Canada – a $130 million facility now under construction – is a major family attraction set to open in Fall 2013. Ripley's Aquarium of Canada will be a 12,500 square-metre (135,000 square-feet) world-class family attraction with more than 5.7 million litres (1.5 million gallons) of water depicting marine and freshwater habitats from around the world. The highly anticipated aquarium is expected to draw nearly two- million visitors each year and will feature more than 13,500 exotic sea and freshwater creatures, a unique 96-metre-long (315 foot) moving walkway through an acrylic tunnel deep below the 2.84-million litre Shark Lagoon, a tropical reef tank, and a Marine and Freshwater Education Centre with dedicated classroom space. www.ripleyaquariums.com/canada

In an effort to raise awareness about the importance of public and private gardens, the value of home gardening, the benefits of green spaces and the promotion of environmental stewardship, the Toronto Botanical Gardens for the very first time will be offering new handheld audio tours of their gardens for $5, seven days a week from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. These audio tours are easy to use and can be done at your own pace by following a map and/or signs in the garden. Just punch in the corresponding number on the device's keypad and off you go on your own private tour of the gardens. After 28 years, giant pandas have returned to the Toronto Zoo for the Giant Panda Experience. On loan from China, catch a rare and unforgettable sighting of the only two giant pandas in Canada.
