What's New in Oregon's Tualatin Valley This Spring?
If you've never been to Oregon's Tualatin Valley, or haven't been here in a while, this year is the year for a much-needed getaway. These new attractions throughout the valley will enhance your visit.
New & Renovated Hotels
McMenamins Grand Lodge just completed its property-wide renovations, adding 22 new guestrooms, renovating 23 existing rooms to include private bathrooms and in-room air conditioning and heating units, and so much more. Read more about the Grand Lodge's renovations >>>
Opening this spring is the Aloft Hillsboro-Beaverton. This hip hotel enters the growing hotel market in the Tualatin Valley with its new 137-room property located in Hillsboro, featuring many of the modern services and amenities for which the Aloft brand is known.
New Shops
Downtown Hillsboro is bustling with new shops along its Main Street. From art to chocolate, these are must-visit stops while visiting the Tualatin Valley.
Perks of Art is an indoor art market, french-press coffeehouse and wine bar. The mixed-use space is a boutique artist collective, showcasing a variety of local artisan work, ranging from fine art to handcrafted products. Perks of Art also hosts fun, 2-3 hours art classes using a variety of mediums, and are designed for all skills and abilities.
Chocolate is the name of the game at the Study of Sweets shop. The shop features handmade confections, chocolates, candies and an extensive hot chocolate list. Don't miss the make-your-own chocolate bar station.
Local coffee purveyor, Insomnia Coffee, recently opened a new coffeehouse at 3rd & Main, its biggest storefront to date, and its conveniently located a couple blocks from the MAX light rail. Insomnia brews coffee carefully and artfully brewed using its own beans, Dapper & Wise, which is roasted in the Tualatin Valley.
Breweries and Taprooms
In the city of Tigard, Tigard Taphouse, a quaint taproom housed in a craftsman-style house opened near Main Street, and features 26 rotating taps of craft beer, cider and wine. The taphouse also features games, backyard fire pits and live music.
Also in Tigard, Hops on Tap, located on Pacific Highway, is a new taphouse serving 31 taps of beer, cider, kombucha, mead and wine.
