Timberline Lodge Introduces Their New Proprietary Beef Program
Timberline Lodge has gone “gate to plate” by partnering with Deschutes River Beef for the lodge's proprietary beef program. Timberline has purchased 52 cows that are born and raised humanely without growth hormones in Maupin, OR, just 45 minutes east of where Timberline Lodge sits on Mt. Hood. Timberline is also butchering in-house, and even grinding its own meat. With respect to the animals, full utilization is the goal. After dry aging for 21 days, lodge meat cutters handcraft a variety of thick cut steaks and slow cooked roasts for service in the Cascade Dining Room. Mt. Hood Brewing Co. (owned by Timberline Lodge) now features proprietary beef burgers, and braised cuts are offered in various preparations in the Wy'East Café. Timberline's first proprietary beef went gate to plate in mid-September. This program was launched with a Pasture & Pinot event and beef dinner at the lodge on October 7th. The Pasture & Pinot menu will be available through October 2016.
Cosmic Tubing at Skibowl Gets Even Bigger
Mt. Hood Skibowl's popular Cosmic Tubing expanded during the 2015/16 season from Friday and Saturday nights to all weekend, adding Sunday nights. And this season it will physically expand its offerings with a second conveyor-lift tube tow, more lights, more tubes and more fun. Mt. Hood Skibowl promises that Cosmic Tubing will be the most fun you've had all weekend. And while you're there, take advantage of the largest night ski terrain in the country at Skibowl West.
