Ace Hotel (Downtown LA/Metro) – The Ace Hotel's new location in Downtown's historic theatre district is taking reservations starting Jan. 15, 2013. The hip and artsy hotel resides in the United Artist Theatre building and was remodeled to include 180 guestrooms and an ornately decorated 1,600-seat entertainment venue. The Los Angeles location is the second Ace Hotel location in California.

The Beverly Garland Hotel (San Fernando Valley) - An extensive renovation that includes all guest rooms, public space, and the addition of a new outdoor wedding venue is underway, and expected to be complete in spring 2014. The hotel's Tula's Café will be redesigned by Chef Warren Schwartz and re-launched under a new name this winter. As part of the transition to an independent hotel, The Beverly Garland will shed the Holiday Inn flag on Nov. 30.

Holiday Inn Burbank Media Center (San Fernando Valley) – Phase II of the three-phase $15 million renovation project for the 485-room hotel located in Downtown Burbank is now complete. Improvements were made to the suites, lobby, sales office, cocktail lounges, ballroom and commercial areas, and include new colors, furnishings, and a contemporary image. With Phase II complete, guests can enjoy the newly designed People's Choice Restaurant, Casting Call Lounge, and Crystal View Lounge. Also new is the South Pacific Ballroom with a bar and the Outdoor Garden Park complete with waterfalls, koi ponds and a romantic gazebo.

Hotel Angeleno (Westside)–The 209-room, independently owned Hotel Angeleno, which was completely redesigned five years ago and is located at Sunset and the 405 Fwy., remodeled its meeting venues. The West Restaurant Lounge, on the 17th floor of the distinctive cylindrical tower, has been completely remodeled and is available for buyout for events up to 300 people. It has a panoramic view of Los Angeles, chic modern decor, bar and full restaurant service. Audio visual equipment and support are available. On the 16th floor, the newly renovated executive boardroom and two adjacent meeting rooms each have a 50-person capacity. Hotel Normandie (Downtown LA/Metro) – The boutique hotel in LA's exciting Koreatown built in the 1920s by architects Walker and Eisen, noted for designing the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, is undergoing a $5 million renovation and restoration. Half the rooms are complete and the hotel is open. The entire project is expected to be complete in late 2013. The 100-room Renaissance and Spanish Revival style hotel will feature an all-new restaurant and bar (the relocation of famed Cassell's restaurant) serving breakfast lunch and dinner, and another small, fine dining restaurant called Le Comptoir. A brand new bar facing the street with craft beers and hand-mixed cocktails, and new lobby bar are on the way. There is also an all new 1,600 sq. ft. banquet hall and two new executive board rooms.

The L.A. Hotel (Downtown) — The L.A. Hotel Downtown completed a $20-million transition to become a Hyatt Regency in spring 2013. Renovations brought an all-new modern look to the hotel, including an elegant and contemporary design, and service upgrades to each of its 400 guest rooms and 69 suites, public spaces, meeting and event areas, business and fitness centers, restaurants and grand lobby. The more than 25,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, including 23 versatile meeting rooms, two ballrooms, and nearly 4,000 sq. ft. of pre-function space, received exquisite new design upgrades as well as new floor plans. There are two ballrooms, the largest of which is 7,440 sq. ft., and 23 breakout meeting rooms. Wireless high-speed Internet is available throughout the hotel.

The Line (Downtown LA/Metro) – The exciting new lifestyle on the way to Korean Town is taking reservations starting Jan. 1, 2013. The Line is a collaboration between the Sydell Group of hoteliers, creators of such hot properties as Ace New York and The NoMad, one of LA's great celebrity chefs Roy Choi (A-Frame, Kogi BBQ Trucks, Chego), the Houston Brothers (La Descarga, Harvard & Stone), designer Sean Knibb and art and design collective Poketo. Loews Hollywood Hotel (Hollywood) – Loews Hotels & Resorts purchased the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in June 2012, re-naming it the Loews Hollywood Hotel. In 2013, it finished a $26 million renovation. It has 632 guestrooms, including 32 suites, and the property features over 120,000 sq. ft. of flexible function space, including a 2,000-person capacity ballroom and 11 breakout rooms. There are also special event features such as onsite exhibition space, a pool terrace, Dolby Theatre, and extensive audio-visual equipment. The Moment (Hollywood) – Newport Beach-based Broughton Hotels opened its new boutique hotel called The Moment in July 2013. The hotel with 39 rooms and one suite include the Moment Deck & Bar, a 2,000 sq. ft. deck with views of the Hollywood Hills. Rooms feature accent walls in orange, green or purple, and start at $199 a night.

Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott (Downtown) — The $172-million, 373,000-sq. ft. hotel project is in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, directly across the street from the L.A. LIVE sports and entertainment complex and a block from the Los Angeles Convention Center. The new hotel development comprises a 23-story high-rise housing a 174-room Courtyard by Marriott and a 218-room Residence Inn by Marriott, including 11,754 sq. ft. of meeting facilities and 5,100 sq. ft. of restaurant space. Construction is well underway and is expected to be complete in 2014.

Sportsmen's Lodge Hotel (Valley) — The Event Center at Sportsmen's Lodge, formerly known as the Sportsmen's Lodge Restaurant and Banquet Center, has reopened after a complete renovation during 2012. The Event Center has 30,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, in addition to two outdoor event locations in garden settings. Event spaces range from 660 sq. ft. to 10,000 sq. ft. and can be sub-divided a variety of ways. Most spaces feature scenic views, built-in stages, Wi-Fi access and are custom decorated, and the hotel has on-site event planning staff.

The Standard (Downtown LA)— The hotel's 4,750 sq. ft. rooftop pool and lounge area has stunning panoramic views and 240-person capacity, and the event space can be reserved by section. Other meeting and event spaces include the 2,650 sq. ft. Lobby Lounge on the ground floor, featuring a DJ booth, modular projection screen, bar, and lounge area, able to accommodate up to 200 people. The two penthouses offer approximately 1,000 sq. ft. each, dining areas and lounge areas with flexible seating for smaller private meetings or presentations. The ground level Firepit area offers an outdoor even space with 25-person capacity for seated dinner. Annenberg Space for Photography (Westside)- The Annenberg Space for Photography, a cultural destination dedicated to exhibiting both digital and print photography in a modern, intimate environment, opened its new Skylight Studios event space in July, 2013. The 3,000 sq. ft. studio space has customizable lighting, soundproof walls, two large screens and a 14-foot stage and extensive audio- visual capabilities.

The Broad Los Angeles (Downtown) –Located on the same block as The Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), the new Broad Los Angeles will bring a major new museum to Downtown to display Eli and Edythe Broad's extensive collection of contemporary art. A stunning honeycombed veil will wrap around the three-story, 120,000 sq. ft. museum. Other highlights of the $100 million museum include nearly an acre of column-free gallery space, a lecture hall for up to 200 people, a ground-floor multimedia gallery, a public lobby with display space and museum store.
TCL Chinese Theater (Hollywood) – Home of the world-famous foot- and handprints of the stars in the sidewalk cement, the historic TCL Chinese Theatre is one of the most recognizable locations in Los Angeles. The theatre is closed for renovations and re-opened in Sept. 2013 with a new IMAX screen, making it the world's largest IMAX theatre in seating capacity. It will have the world's third-largest IMAX screen.

The Forum (Beach Cities/LAX) - The Forum, one of rock music's most storied venues, where Led Zeppelin, Elvis Presley, the Rolling Stones and many other rock legends have performed, has emerged from a complete, $100 million makeover, opening in Jan. 2014. The Forum offers a major, high profile venue for large-scale meetings, events, performances, incentive, group travel and VIP experiences. The re-made Forum, owned by Madison Square Garden Co., is perfectly suited for music and entertainment events, award shows and television/film productions. The event venue includes 8,000 square feet of new hospitality space, with food and beverage concessions and souvenirs shops separated by a glass wall so guests will never miss a moment of the show, all-new sound, lighting and media technology, 17,500 all-new red velvet theater seats with flexible layouts, and a star-filled LED-lit ceiling. The completely renovated VIP Forum Club lounge has music-inspired detailing, and there is an all-new Chase Lounge. The Rose Bowl (Valley & Neighboring Regions) –To celebrate its 100th anniversary, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena is undergoing extensive renovations. The improvements include a new press box, less cluttered stadium, new video board, wider tunnels, added aisles, elliptical field, restoration of historic field hedge, added concessions, and additional restrooms. The national historic landmark is the home stadium of UCLA Bruins football, the site of the Rose Bowl, one of the most beloved sporting events in America, hosted events during the 1932 and 1984 Olympics, and hosted the 1994 FIFA World Cup Final and 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup Final. Events can be held on the field itself (capacity 10,000), Court of Champions Courtyard (capacity 1,500), Press Box/Media Center (capacity 350), or in the Locker Room (capacity 400).

Skirball Cultural Center (Westside) – Nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains between the San Fernando Valley and West LA, the Skirball Cultural Center is opening its new Guerin Pavilion in late 2013. The new meetings and events venue will add 17,500 sq. ft. to its existing venue facilities. The new building features a 9,000 sq. ft. ballroom with arches and views of a lush, tiered garden and is adjacent to the upgraded Herscher Hall. Featuring the same stunning architectural design as the rest of the center, it has fully retractable glass walls allowing the room to open to the uniquely designed garden, as well as dividing partitions, adjacent reception areas, meeting rooms and suites.

Universal Studios Hollywood (Hollywood) — The hit entertainment news magazine show “Extra”announced that starting in September it is moving its headquarters to Universal Studios Hollywood. Vibiana (Downtown) - Housed in a former cathedral dating built in 1876, Vibiana features a cavernous 11,600 sq. ft. baroque-style Main Hall with 45 ft. soaring vaulted ceilings, Corinthian columns, a marble stage and stained-glass windows. The stately courtyard garden has native California palm and olive trees, and the new Redbird Restaurant, set to open later in 2013 with seating for up to 150. Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (Beverly Hills) — The new $50-million venue for the performing arts opened in Oct. 2013. The Center has two distinct, elegant buildings: the historic 1933 Italianate-style Beverly Hills Post Office and the new, contemporary 500-seat, state-of-the-art Goldsmith Theater. The Post Office has been transformed into the flexible 150-seat Lovelace Studio Theatre, a youth theater school, café and gift shop. The buildings will be surrounded by lush intimate courtyards, a sunken sculpture garden and a promenade event terrace with seating for up to 500 people. It also features a subterranean, three-level municipal parking garage.

Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX (LAX) — The $1.9-billion Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) began operations on Sept. 18. When complete, nine of its 18 gates will be able to handle the largest next generation jets such as the A-380, more than any other airport in the U.S. Once all phases are complete, the new TBIT will have upgraded passenger facilities, a new Great Hall with luxurious lounges, a children's play area, ultra high-end shops (Hermes, Gucci), locally-based retailers (Kitson, Fred Segal) and some of LA's hottest restaurants (Border Grill, Umami, LAMILL). A380 Service From London Heathrow To Lax To Start In September – British Airways launched its A380 service from Heathrow to Los Angeles on Sept. 24. BA is the first UK carrier to take delivery of the double-decker, the world's largest commercial jet.

Emirates To Start New A380 Services To Lax – Dubai-based Emirates Airlines, best known for their ultra-luxurious flights with lie-flat beds and on-board showers, began direct air service with the double-decker Airbus A380 to Los Angeles beginning in Dec. 2013.

Renovation of LAX Terminal 5 – Los Angeles World Airports and Delta Air Lines have announced plans for a $229 million renovation of Terminal 5 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The construction project has already begun and is scheduled to take place in several phases with full completion in 2015.
