What's New in Conferencing at Spicers Group

Spicers Retreats, Hotels and Lodges

Need to inspire your team or impress your clients?

With six stunning destinations less than two hours from Brisbane and one in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Spicers Retreats, Hotels & Lodges are ideal for intimate conferences, team meetings, training workshops, executive retreats, incentive rewards, private parties and corporate events.

Over the past year the group has implemented several exciting changes across its award-winning properties, from expanded accommodation perfect for boutique conferencing to new day spas offering tailored packages for all occasions.

Pampering new spas

Spicers Peak Lodge has launched Spa Anise - a purpose-built spa facility featuring specially designed treatment rooms, a plunge spa pool on the deck and a range of unique treatment options.

"Whether it's a team bonding experience or dining on spa cuisine in front of the open fireplace, Spa Anise offers a unique and memorable spa experience tailored to your needs," Group Sales Manager Kylie Stever said.

"The facility offers blissful treatments including a Hot Rocks Massage and Lime and Ginger Exfoliating Wrap which perfectly complement the unforgettable Spicers Peak Lodge experience.

"Spicers Peak Lodge has also introduced new daily scheduled activities which will invigorate and inspire your team members or clients including a nature walk, horseback riding, a four-wheel drive adventure and a nightlife tour, where they can learn about the constellations and then search for animals with a spotlight as they graze after dark."

Guests can also enjoy a variety of activities at their leisure, including jogging or mountain biking one of the many trails around the property, throw a line in down at the lake for a lazy afternoon of fishing,  play a friendly game of billiards or tennis, or lounge on the deck by the swimming pool.

Situated on a 9,000 acre property 90 minutes south west of Brisbane in Queensland's spectacular Scenic Rim region, Spicers Peak Lodge is Australia's highest non-alpine lodge offering breathtaking views of the Great Dividing Range and Main Range National Park.

The property features 10 luxurious suites and two private lodges, two fully equipped meeting rooms, each seating up to 12 people, with state of the art conference facilities and a variety of breakout areas as well as the award-winning onsite restaurant The Peak, where diners can enjoy a seven-course degustation dinner matched with wines.

Voted Best Luxury Accommodation in the 2011 Tourism Queensland Awards, Spicers Peak Lodge is also one of the Luxury Lodges of Australia. The Peak has also won numerous awards including the prestigious Restaurant of the Year and Best Fine Dining Restaurant for Brisbane/Darling Downs region at the 2012 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence in Queensland.

Go bush with your team

Just down the road, Spicers Canopy also offers an ideal venue to inspire your team with the great outdoors as your backdrop.

An intimate campsite retreat, Spicers Canopy features 10 tastefully appointed safari-style luxury tents accommodating up to 20 people which can be booked out exclusively for corporate events.

Its proximity to walking trails and stunning locations makes it ideal for corporate adventure and team-building activities conducted by Spicers' professional facilitators.

Apart from the nearby natural wonders, the heart of the group experience lies in Spicers Canopy's large and comfortable communal lounge and dining area where a large table forms an intimate centerpiece.

"Every stay at Spicers Canopy is all-inclusive which means the rate includes all accommodation, food and beverages," Ms Stever said.

"This also means that a stay at Spicers Canopy is wonderfully easy to organise and you don't have to worry about a thing once you're there so you can get on with the business of enjoying your event.

"Conference and incentive guests can now also choose whether or not to do the 1.5 hour guided walk into the eco-site, giving you greater flexibility and choice."

New boutique cottage accommodation

At Spicers Clovelly Estate in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, the newest addition to its accommodation is the newly renovated French Cottage - the perfect place for conference convenors or special guests to relax or just enjoy the space and privacy afforded in luxurious French-inspired surrounds.

This standalone cottage contains three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, open-plan living, kitchen and dining, a study and two verandas front and back with views across the Hinterland. The French Cottage takes Spicers Clovelly's accommodation capacity to 26 people.

"The cottage is fully self-contained but guests can use all the facilities of Spicers Clovelly Estate such as Spa Anise and the award-winning onsite restaurant The Long Apron," Ms Stever said.

"Spicers Clovelly Estate has also opened up a private deck area from the library area which is the perfect place for a private conference function or dinner group.

"Spicers Clovelly Estate is located just five minutes from the village of Montville, regarded as the creative heart of the Sunshine Coast and just 90 minutes north of Brisbane. The estate boasts an on-site dedicated conference coordinator who can assist in arranging a variety of conference activities including cooking school and chef's table dinner parties at its acclaimed onsite restaurant The Long Apron.

The property is one of the Luxury Lodges of Australia and has received numerous accolades including 2 Chef Hats in the 2013 Australian Good Food Guide Restaurant Awards for The Long Apron. The restaurant also won Regional Restaurant of the Year in the 2012 Queensland Good Food Guide.
