Pioneering UK holiday park operator Away Resorts will be taking its guests back in time to the Victorian streets of London this Christmas with a musical performance of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol during its four-day festive break at Mill Rythe Holiday Village on Hayling Island.
The entertainment team at Mill Rythe will be invoking the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future as they perform their very own interpretation of the antics of Scrooge, Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and of course the three wise spirits, featuring traditional carols, such as In The Bleak Midwinter, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, I Saw Three Ships and The Holly And The Ivy.
The performance of A Christmas Carol is just one of the many shows that the hard-working entertainment team at Mill Rythe will be performing for their guests during the four-day break, which is packed full of entertainment from the minute guests check in on 23 December, where they will be greeted with carol singers and mulled wine, to the second they check out on 27 December.
As well as a visit from the big fella with the white beard and the red suit on Christmas Day, guests can expect to hear the top 10 of favourite festive tunes and carols for a great Crimbo singalong, confetti canyons and flying reindeer and snow in the ballroom – yes, it actually snows in the Mill Rythe ballroom.
Alongside all of the shows put on by the fantastic entertainment team, some of whom have performed on the West End stage, there are visiting bands, comedians and cabaret acts.
This Yuletide stress buster is tailored to meet the needs of every member of the family from toddlers all the way through to great grandparents. And the icing on this festive break is that its full-board offering means that mums and dads don't face hours of preparing Christmas Day dinner followed by family arguments about who is going to do the washing-up as all meals are prepared by the Mill Rythe chefs.
And for guests who fancy venturing off the park to explore the local area, they could head to Portsmouth to visit Charles Dickens' actual birthplace which is now a museum. Portsmouth Tourist Guides also host Charles Dickens walks through the city throughout the year. (visitportsmouth.co.uk)

Notes to editors
- Away Resorts is a private equity-backed UK holiday park operator, with a head office in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
- Away Resorts was founded in 2008 by third-generation holiday park entrepreneur Carl Castledine when he purchased Whitecliff Bay on the Isle of Wight. Carl's grandfather ran Britain's first holiday camp, at Caister in Norfolk, which opened in 1905, more than 30 years before Billy Butlin's first park.
- The UK holiday park operator Away Resorts now owns five parks across England, all of which are very different in personality.
- Whitecliff Bay on the Isle of Wight is the operator's coastal escape, Tattershall Lakes is the lakeside retreat, Mill Rythe Holiday Village is the entertainment-focused resort, Barmouth Bay is located on the north Wales coast with easy access to Snowdonia and the park's newest acquisition is Mersea Island, Away Resorts' island escape just off the Essex coast.
- CEO Carl Castledine aims to pioneer a new holiday park model with a pricing strategy that has a holiday option to suit every budget. The parks are constantly evolving introducing new activities and entertainment every season. For example for summer 2016, the park has teamed up with the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts to host a summer stage school.
- The leading UK holiday park operator has made one of the industry's biggest ever investments in a single UK holiday park, with the redevelopment of its Tattershall Lakes park in Lincolnshire.
- The £8m Tattershall Lakes project is part of a significant £12m investment programme across the Away Resorts portfolio of five locations, a strategy implemented when leading mid-market private equity firm LDC backed the secondary buyout of the business in April 2015.
