Australia's Leading Wellness Expert Sarah Wilson Joins Westin Well-Being Movement and Launches Discovering Well-being in Travel Guide, Offering Top Tips for Keeping the Mind, Body and Soul in Shape On the Road
Sydney, December 9, 2014 – Westin® Hotels & Resorts has announced Sarah Wilson, author of the popular books and e-books I Quit Sugar and I Quit Sugar For Life, as the newest Asia Pacific Westin Well-Being Brand Advocate. Passionate about providing insightful and inspiring information to encourage people to stay active and foster wellness regardless of their location, Sarah has created a Westin guide to Discovering Well-Being in Travel.
“At Westin, we're committed to inspiring guests and associates to embark on the pursuit of well-being and discover what makes them feel their best. We are very excited to appoint our Westin Well-Being brand advocates to further provide tailored initiatives for travelers in this region,” said Vincent Ong, Senior Director, Brand Management, Sheraton, Westin, Aloft, Four Points by Sheraton, Element, Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts. “With her immense pool of knowledge and experience, this partnership with Sarah Wilson, one of Australia's leading wellness experts, seeks to further underscore the Westin brands' well-being positioning.”
Available for download via The Westin Sydney and The Westin Melbourne websites, the guide includes Sarah's expert advice and top tips for keeping the mind, body and soul in shape wherever you are in the world.
“My work as an author, public speaker and wellness advocate sees me in the air and in hotel beds a good three months of the year. Consequently, I have dedicated a great deal of energy to developing and collating my tips and tricks for keeping active and fostering wellness on the road. I know travelling can take its toll on people, so I'm delighted to be able to share my research with Westin guests”, said Sarah.
“For me, I now see my travel and hotel stays as a wonderful opportunity to focus on my wellness and I hope the guide will positively affect all aspects of the reader's life, from encouraging a great night's sleep and increased efficiency in work, to maintaining a balanced diet and improved fitness”, continued Sarah.
Famous for her series of I Quit Sugar books and e-books, Sarah is one of Australia's leading wellness advocates. Her books are sold in more than 40 countries around the world and Sarah estimates as many as 500,000 people have completed her sugar detox program.
The new partnership between Westin and Sarah falls under the Westin Well-being Movement, an ambitious USD$15 million brand-wide campaign designed to enhance the well-being of guests and associates around the world.
Launched earlier this year, The Westin Well-Being Movement is a year-long global initiative designed to enhance the well-being of guests and associates with the introduction of a string of innovative partnerships and programs across the brand's six pillars of well-being: Feel Well, Work Well, Move Well, Eat Well, Sleep Well and Play Well. Building upon its existing healthy SuperFoodsRx™ menus, Westin recently introduced new delicious and nutrient-rich offerings including Westin Fresh by The Juicery, featuring energising juices and smoothies, and kid-tested nourishing dishes developed in partnership with SuperChefs™ on the Westin Eat Well Menu for Kids (Eat Well).
The brand also partnered with the mindful meditation app, Headspace (Feel Well), in which guests have exclusive access to customised content through the Westin website, designed to spread healthy benefits including decreasing stress, improving mood and increasing creativity.
The inspiration for Westin brand's well-being strategy, the iconic Heavenly® Bed (Sleep Well) is beloved by guests and lauded as one of hospitality's great innovations. WestinWORKOUT®, RunWESTIN™ and Westin Gear Lending with New Balance® (Move Well) together pack a formidable punch, offering guests a holistic fitness solution. The brand's nature-inspired design, signature sensory welcome, Heavenly Bath and Heavenly Spa (Feel Well) offer a relaxing respite from the rigors of travel. Tangent (Work Well), an innovative workspace concept for small groups modeled to support today's mobile traveler, is receiving rave reviews and high usage from guests in locations where available. Westin Weekend (Play Well) signature experiences are designed to let guests escape, discover and relax and the brand's digital destination guide, Westin Finds from AFAR, provides guests with uniquely curated travel experiences.
