Home to extraordinary experiences, Western Australia welcomes a wealth of new and revitalised tourism product to ATE 2013.
In the last year, WA's vibrant capital city Perth received an accommodation boost, with the opening of The Terrace Hotel and Fraser Suites Perth, and the launch of Crown Perth (re-branded from Intercontinental Perth Burswood) and Four Points by Sheraton Perth.
Fraser Suites Perth offers five-star, short and long term accommodation with 236 studio, one and two bedroom apartments – all complemented by a range of onsite facilities including restaurant, 24-hour gym, swimming pool and lobby lounge with bar. The Terrace Hotel is a four level $20 million luxury boutique hotel with 15 rooms. Housed behind a federation façade, the hotel also boasts attractive food and beverage offerings. www.perth.frasershospitality.com; www.terracehotelperth.com.au
The launch of Crown Perth and its $750 million dollar expansion and refurbishment includes a renovated resort swimming pool and modernised casino, and a premium dining portfolio with globally renowned restaurant brands Nobu, Rockpool, Bistro Guillaume and The Merrywell. Also new are ISIKA Spa, ISIKA Fitness and ISIKA Hair & Body Bar. And there's more to come, with the announcement of the Crown Towers Perth, a six-star, 500 room luxury hotel – work is expected to take around three years.
The former Citigate Perth has been converted into Four Points by Sheraton Perth, with a six month, multi-million dollar redevelopment where the 278 rooms and suites have undergone a total transformation, while the lobby, restaurant and bar have undergone major works. www.fourpoints.com/perth
Perth is also undergoing a 'wining and dining boom' with new bars and restaurants opening almost weekly. Of particular note is the development of the Brookfield Place precinct where heritage buildings have been awakened and transformed into premium wining and dining offerings – including the multi-level venue The Print Hall (two bars including a rooftop bar, fine dining restaurant; café/bakery and Asian hawker style restaurant); The Heritage (bar and bistro-style restaurant); The Trustee Bar & Bistro and Bar Lafayette. Just outside of Perth's central business district is Northbridge, which has undergone a transformation around its main William Street area and Perth Cultural Centre – hip bars, vintage boutiques and family-friendly outdoor spaces are now all part of the scene. http://brookfieldplaceperth.com/
