Located near Oban in Argyll, Loch Melfort Hotel has been recognised by Visit Scotland as a “…well-managed and well-presented property where all guests are assured of a warm west coast welcome and comfortable stay”.
The owners, Calum and Rachel Ross, said: “We are delighted to be one of the few hotels in the Oban area awarded four-star status from Visit Scotland. This would not have been possible without the hard-work, passion and dedication of our team, who we would like to say a big thank you to. We strive to continually provide an excellent and memorable experience for our guests”.
Set in 17 acres of gardens and beach, Loch Melfort Hotel sits amongst spectacular scenery and boasts stunning coastal views from 20 of its recently refurbished bedrooms. Guest can relax in the well-appointed lounges and have a choice of fine dining in the restaurant or casual dining in the increasingly popular bistro. The hotel also recently retained their 'Taste our Best' award from Visit Scotland, which highlights their commitment to using all Scottish and locally sourced produce.
Last year Loch Melfort Hotel secured a £101,000 investment from Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) towards its upgrade.
Jennifer Nicoll, HIE area manager for Argyll and the Islands, said: “This is great news for Loch Melfort Hotel. High level accommodation is crucial to the development of the tourism offering in mid Argyll. Loch Melfort Hotel is well placed to provide this. The owners have invested significantly in the higher end of the market and to very good effect. In doing so they are helping to attract more visitors to Argyll, something that will benefit the wider region, and create valuable new jobs.”
