West Brom Pack Their Baggies For La Manga Club

La Manga Club

Leading Coca-Cola Championship side West Bromwich Albion, have been rewarded for their impressive start to the season with a few days warm-weather training at the prestigious La Manga Club resort in Spain.

Having secured an excellent away win at fellow title challengers Leicester City on Saturday which saw them maintain their push for an automatic promotion spot - the Baggies squad has swapped its Great Barr training ground for some much needed R&R in advance of a heavy winter programme, starting with Bristol City at home on November 21.

Coach Roberto di Matteo, the former Chelsea star, will be hoping that the first-class facilities at La Manga Club will help to keep the clubs promotion target on track.

The resort boasts the best facilities in southern Europe for professional sports teams, with eight international-standard grass pitches and a host of other amenities including three 18-hole championship golf courses and the five-star Hotel La Manga Club Principe Felipe.

West Bromwich Albions visit underlines an increasing trend for British professional clubs who have chosen La Manga Club in recent times, including Celtic, Liverpool, Wolves and Sheffield United.

The Mar Menor is the ideal setting for water sports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, canoeing or jet-skiing. The absence of large waves makes this lagoon into an unbeatable ally when it comes to harnessing the winds. Suitable for all levels.
