Creative Escapes offers intensive photography and travel writing courses in the Ardeche region of southern France.

Creative Escapes offers intensive photography and travel writing courses in the Ardeche region of southern France.

These three-day workshops are held in Lablachere two hours north of Marseilles at our 17th-century stone farmhouse on an 11-acre site replete with swimming pool, ball courts, barbeque and gorgeous landscape to inspire you. Our seasoned team of broadsheet, glossy magazine and guidebook travel writers and photographers will teach the secrets of professional travel writing and travel photography.

Our intensive seminars are geared towards both beginners and established journalists. The writing classes cover such fundamentals as pitching, finding a hook, writing for an audience, turning experience into copy and networking with editors. Our photography classes run through the basics of your digital or film camera aperture, metering and lenses before going into detail about what makes great images, how to shoot them and even how to touch them up in Photoshop. Both seminars allow for free time to try out what you've learned and offer one-on-one tutorial sessions with our instructors, and allow you to network and kick back with other students as well.

Our price of £299 (10% discount for Travmedia.com members £269) covers all tuition, accommodation, full board with wine, plus transfers to/from Marseilles airport.
