Wedding and Honeymoon Inspiration for 2016 - Luxury Romantic Getaways in the Maldives

Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation

For couples planning to get married or renew their vows this year, the Maldives, one of the world's most romantic destinations, is offering weddings and honeymoon options for those planning to tie the knot surrounded by the Indian Ocean's swaying palms and crystal clear blue waters.

While it is not possible to officially marry in the Maldives, the natural beauty and extensive hotel offerings make them the perfect destination to renew your vows or have a blessing. Couples will have the opportunity to treat each other to once-in-a-lifetime experiences, from a champagne picnic on an uninhabited island, blindfolded dinner on the beach, pampering spa treatments to action-packed underwater experiences.

Newly opened OBLU by Atmosphere is offering an overwater wedding at Landaa Giravaaru's brand new Overwater Pavilion as well as an Island Blessing Ceremony, inspired by Maldivian settings at Park Hyatt Hadahaa, Maldives.

Overwater Wedding at Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru
Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru has recently unveiled a new 'floating' overwater pavilion that elevates the beach wedding concept and allows the bridal couple and up to 24 guests to pledge forever above the infinite life and endless beauty of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve ocean. Located off the northwest tip of the island, accessible only by boat, the overwater Wedding Pavilion is a freestanding, pillared structure: light and airy with lofty vaulted ceilings, shimmering titanium-polished concrete floor with glass bottom 'aisle' that's above a turtle enclosure and floor-to-ceiling glass doors to three sides. Couples can choose to personalise the space with flowers, candles and even select their nature-inspired colour palettee. The Resort's Wedding Coordinator can help couples plan every bespoke detail of their day, and indulge in the resort's extensive wedding and honeymoon offering, including champagne breakfasts, romantic candlelit dinner for two and relaxing massages in the privacy of their bungalow or villas.

Guests will also be treated to an hour long private photo-shoot across the resort, which will be captured on a take-home CD, and a private six course celebratory dinner – watching the sunset touch down on Hadahaa beach. To extend the celebration, guests will be brought an in-villa honeymoon breakfast the next day.
