Captain Cook Cruises

Australia take a bow! We've isolated, jabbed and masked our way throughout 2021 to keep our loved ones safe. Captain Cook Cruises Sydney is expressing their thanks by inviting all residents to celebrate safely onboard special Thank You Thursday lunch and dinner cruises with savings up to 20%. Five dollars from every ticket sold will also be donated to one of three frontline charities.

Captain Cook Cruises is putting great food, stunning views and a whole bunch of gratitude on the plate this summer. Two specially designed Sydney Harbour cruises will operate every Thursday in November and December for lunch and dinner.

Both the Thank You Thursday Lunch and Thank You Thursday Dinner cruises are priced from only $69, with an extra $25 saving available with a Dine or Discover voucher for NSW residents. Every cruise includes spacious reserved upper-deck seating on flagship Sydney 2000, personalised service and 360° harbour views from the open top deck and expansive indoor viewing windows.

The Thank You Thursday Lunch cruise includes 2-course à la carte dining and your choice of 1.5 or 3 hours of relaxed cruising on Sydney Harbour. The Thank You Thursday Dinner cruise includes 3-course dining and a 2-hour cruise from 5.00pm.

“We all deserve a thank you, but none more so than our amazing frontline workers, charities and volunteers. Which is why we are delighted to donate $5 of every Thank You Thursday ticket sold.” said Nick Lester, General Manager Captain Cook Cruises. “You can help now by voting for the charity of your choice – Foodbank NSW & ACT, Lifeline or Regional Opportunities of Australia”, continued Mr Lester.

Foodbank is Australia's largest and most respected food relief charity in the country, providing more than 70% of the food rescued for food relief charities nation-wide. Right now, Foodbank NSW & ACT is responding to the need for tens of thousands of food hampers and food relief. The demand has never been greater.

Over 10,000 Lifeline volunteers have answered a record-breaking number of calls over the last year from people in crisis and the risk of suicide. Domestic violence, stress and overwhelming feelings of loneliness and isolation are just a few of the ongoing issues.

Regional Opportunities of Australia plays a vital role in helping migrants and refugees move from cities to welcoming regional communities by connecting them to employment and business opportunities. At a time when Regional Australian farms, small towns and remote areas are crying out for workers, there has never been a better time to support.

Captain Cook Cruises is calling for the public to visit their website, buy a ticket and help build the fund. However just registering your vote online is also a great way to show your support. It's super easy, free, and you can win a Gold Dinner Cruise for two valued at over $500. The more votes a charity has, the greater the share of the donation fund the charity receives. Every vote counts.

About Foodbank NSW & ACT

Foodbank is Australia's largest food relief organisation, providing approximately 70% of food assistance to individuals and families across NSW & the ACT. Foodbank NSW & ACT partner with over 1,000 charity partners and schools to distribute food to those facing hardship, with over 170,000 people receiving food assistance each month. Foodbank NSW & ACT work closely with the Australian food and grocery industry, farmers, wholesalers, manufacturers and retailers to source stock that meets retail standards or is excess product. In addition, we collaborate with suppliers and transport companies to source key staple foods such as meat, pasta, noodles, rice and grain that don't come in sufficient quantities via rescue channels.

The impact of the back-to-back disasters has been devastating for many. That's why we're working with our partners across the food and grocery sector, and our broader community, to provide emergency relief hampers to affected communities. In addition to the hampers, we will continue providing staples and personal care products every day to people in need.  For more information visit https://www.foodbank.org.au/?state=nsw-act

About Lifeline

Lifeline is Australia's largest suicide prevention service, with a vision of an Australia free of suicide. The Lifeline network spans the nation with 41 centres in metropolitan, rural and remote areas.  There are over 10,000 volunteers and 1,000 employees working to ensure that no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone.

Lifeline aims to deliver digital services to Australian people in crisis, wherever they might be and in the mode in which they are most comfortable accessing support. Each year, Lifeline receives almost 1 million contacts from people in crisis.  Someone in Australia calls 13 11 14 every 30 seconds. Support is also available online, via webchat at lifeline.org.au (7pm – midnight AEDT) and through text message service on 0477 13 11 14 (6pm – midnight AEDT). If you, or someone you know is in need of support, please contact Lifeline. For more information visit https://www.lifeline.org.au/

About Regional Opportunities Australia

ROA's role is to identify regional areas that have employment and business opportunities. It also identifies migrants and refugees who are excited to take up those opportunities and assists them in getting job and business ready, moving to, and calling regional Australia home.

Prior to connecting the two, ROA culturally prepares both migrants and refugees, and regional communities to ensure that the transition to life in regional Australia is smooth and sustainable. We want to play a role in advancing the regional Australian economy and society by connecting hardworking migrants and refugees to regional areas that offer cheaper housing, lower cost of living and a stronger sense of belonging.
