Watch Out For Dinosaurs And Monsters! A Monstrous Halloween In Europa-Park

Europa-Park

Germany's largest amusement park takes Halloween to a new level, with 160,000 pumpkins creating a carpet of colour. In addition, 15,000 chrysanthemums, 3,000 bales of straw, 6,000 corn plants, plus spider trees and ghostly lighting effects ensure a unique atmosphere. Special this year are dinosaur figures – built from pumpkins!

In the Grimm's' Enchanted Forest, pumpkin imps will be waiting to surprise visitors. In addition, for the fourth year, there will be a gigantic artwork made out of apples: some 20,000 red and green apples will create a 'fruit dinosaur', covering 900 square feet!

Halloween Specials

Germany's most elaborate display of Halloween decorations sets the perfect scene for autumn fun. Young visitors can experience their first eerie moments at the Euromouse Halloween show (based on the cartoon character). Monsters and other creatures of the night will send a chill up everyone's spine at the Happy Halloween Parade.

The biggest pumpkin in the world is a centrepiece, while the Pumpkin Coaster offers rides at breakneck speeds. Right next door, at the 4D Magic Cinema, visitors can immerse themselves in the 4D animated movie “The Secret of Balthasar Castle”, with Euromouse and his friends, or the “Haunted House.” In the Dutch area, the giant spinning coffee cups are transformed into “Horror Cups” with sparkles, scary music and eerie mist. “The Flying Dutchman” and the “Feria Swing” offer a totally new riding experience – backwards! As day turns into night, everything continues to revolve around Halloween for visitors from around the world. Guests who have booked in to the specially-decorated Halloween hotel bedrooms will need steady nerves if they want to get any sleep! Of course, the best local autumn produce is used for culinary delights in the award-winning restaurants and cafés in both Europa-Park and in the themed hotels.

Europa-Park is open for its summer season from April 5, 2014 to November 2, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily (longer opening times during peak season).
