Warm Up With Whisky In Edinburgh This Christmas

The Scotch Whisky Experience

As one of the UK’s top Christmas destinations, Edinburgh is full of atmosphere and merriment during the holiday season when the city comes to life with festive spirit. Nowhere is this more evident than at The Scotch Whisky Experience, the capital’s five-star whisky visitor attraction.

The attraction’s retail outlet is the ideal place for shoppers to find that perfect bottle of malt, either for entertaining or as a gift. With over 300 different Single Malt, Blended and Grain Whiskies to choose from and a personal shopper on hand to help navigate the selection, shoppers are bound to find the perfect bottle for that fussy friend.

Amber Restaurant gets into the festive mood with specially created seasonal menus perfect for Christmas nights out with friends, family or colleagues, and each dish, as ever, is matched with a complementary Single Malt Whisky.  David Neave and his team use the best products that Scotland’s larder has to offer, with Whisky always a key component in the menu.  Also, during the lull between Christmas and New Year, the attraction holds its annual Distillers Fair, during which visitors can meet some of the distillers themselves and grill them on their alcoholic alchemy.

Located at the top of Edinburgh’s famous Royal Mile, The Scotch Whisky Experience is currently celebrating 25 years in Scotland’s capital.  Since opening its doors in May 1988, the five-star Whisky visitor attraction has welcomed over five million visitors through its doors, and sold upward of one million bottles of Scotland’s national drink.

In 2009, the attraction underwent a multimillion pound refurbishment, which also saw it become home to the World's Largest Collection of Scotch Whisky: a stunning array of 3,384 individual bottles presented in a custom made glass and marble vault.
