The 2021 awards will cover a range of categories relevant to TPL readers, including adventure travel, sustainable tourism, wellness, glamping and expedition cruising. When readers vote on the Travel Play Live website, they will go in the running to win a ‘Life’s An Adventure’ Larapinta Trail Walk for two (2) Valued up to $6000.00  

Elisa Elwin, from Elwin Media, took ownership of Travel Play Live in early 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic hit. She was able to keep the publication alive with the help of a grant from the Judith Neilson Institute of Journalism and Ideas, publishing the Inspirational Women’s series of stories by some of Australia’s best female travel writers, many of which went on to receive nominations in the 2020 Australian Society of Travel Writers Awards for Excellence.

With the industry still facing huge challenges, Elisa said she hoped the new awards would help reinvigorate the title and assist the industry in its efforts to get back on its feet. “Travel Play Live is the only travel, adventure and lifestyle magazine in Australia written entirely for and by women,” she said. “Our mission is to build, empower and inspire a healthy, active community of women with a passion to dream big, challenge themselves and expand their horizons, no matter their preferred type of adventure. We believe that women of all shapes, sizes, fitness levels and age can embrace their desire to live a full and abundant life. We hope our readers are inspired by the inspirational women and organisations that ‘give back’ that we showcase, along with all the fabulous women in our Travel Play Live community.”

Nominations are open now and close on Tues 31 August 2021. The winners will be announced on Tues 7 September 2021.
