Last month, Tiqets - the leading online booking platform for museum and attraction experiences, announced the seven UK winners for the sixth annual Remarkable Venue Awards (RVAs), which celebrates the best museums and attractions around the world. These seven popular UK venues will now compete against the category winners in each of the nine countries represented in the Remarkable Venue Awards for the coveted Global Winner titles.

To become a Global Winner, venues will have to be voted best in their category, which will be decided by a round of consumer voting. The public can cast their votes via the following link: www.tiqets.com/blog/best-museums-attractions-in-2022 before 19 October 2022.

The seven award categories and UK winners to vote for are:

Most Remarkable Venue - recognises the venues that draw the largest crowds and receive the highest-rating

• Windsor Castle

Best Museum - recognises the best-rated museums and art galleries

• The Postal Museum

Best Attraction - recognises the best-rated attraction (including theme parks, zoos and aquariums, and observation decks)

• RHS Garden Wisley

Best Landmark - recognises the best-reviewed cathedrals, churches, castles, palaces, historical or iconic landmarks

• Stamford Bridge - Stadium Tours

Best Onsite Experience - recognises the venues that offer the best onsite experience, staff interaction and information at the venue

• Western Approaches HQ

Best Hidden Gem - recognises the unique or niche attractions that may be off the beaten path, but always stun their visitors

• Hidden London, Exclusive Tours by London Transport Museum

Most Innovative Venue - recognises the museums and attractions that are pushing the industry boundaries forward through creative marketing strategies, new technology, sustainable initiatives, or other means.

This year, the Global Winners of the 2022 Remarkable Venue Awards will be announced at the annual awards ceremony hosted at the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS). Those who can't make it to Seville can tune in to the free livestream of the event.

The selection of the winners is based on 1.1M+ customer reviews on Tiqets.com, with the exception of the Best Hidden Gem and Most Innovative Venue awards, which are based on applications evaluated by a panel of judges. Industry experts on the judging panel include Arival CEO Douglas Quinby, Viajes National Geographic Web Director Javier Zori, MuseumNext Founder Jim Richardson, and Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions Destination Development Manager Anouk van Eekelen.

The Remarkable Venue Awards celebrates seven categories of awards in nine countries worldwide. Since 2017, the awards have recognised museums and attractions in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
