Voltz Clarke and The Surrey Present REVEALED: FACES OF OUR TIME

The Surrey

NEW YORK, NY – May 2015 – The Surrey, New York City's only Relais & Châteaux hotel, is delighted to announce that it has been selected as the official VIP hotel partner for Frieze New York, one of the world's leading contemporary art fairs on Randall's Island from May 14-17, 2015.

As an extension of its commitment to Frieze New York, The Surrey has teamed up with Voltz Clarke and ArtMuse to present REVEALED: FACES OF OUR TIME. This exclusive exhibit, which includes ten iconic portraits by American painter Mark Boomershine, will be on display in the hotel's ground floor lobby and open to the public from May 14 – June 5, 2015. Additional pieces will be exhibited in The Surrey's Penthouse Suite, where Boomershine will host a series of events including a creative panel lecture, media breakfast and evening cocktail celebration where he will debut a new piece, specially curated for The Surrey.

The REVEALED series will feature various faces that define culture today, capturing not only the glamour and beauty of each subject, but also the mysterious attraction that defines them. From model and artist Cara Delevigne as the face of the campaign, to Oscar nominee Eddie Redmayne, the hot handed pop singer Taylor Swift and the iconic star of classic ballet Wendy Whelan, the series will reflect both the fame of the subjects and the enduring fascination of the public.

"Their beauty and talent turn heads and make hearts beat faster. These cultural influencers are online explosion attracting millions to watch their films and see their performances.  When their portraits confront us, we suddenly enter into their space; perhaps even understand their humanity on a different level," said Boomershine.

This exhibit furthers The Surrey's commitment to providing authentic art for guests and locals alike, complementing its existing collection of 31 original modern works dispersed throughout the private and public spaces.
